November 29, 20205 yr As Lamps just said we did just about everything right against a very dangerous Spurs side but we just lacked that bit of magic. That's what we are missing since Hazard left. He would often be the difference. Hopefullt the likes of Pulicic and Haveartz withh provide that once fully fit.

I personally would have had giroud start this game as he would have thrived off the crosses that were coming in from James and others. Should get Jimmy in as a striking coach to talk to Tammy about these things “stay on your feet and tap it in” was the best one, talking about his movement etc, watching tape. Tammy might already do these things but it would help to have someone as good as Jimmy teaching you!

I agree that tammy should have done better but disagree he should have been dropped for Gironde, tammy has earned the starts at the moment. I just wish he would commit to some of the chances he gets, he seems to hesitate and not gamble too much.

No questioning his heart though, always gives 100%, with experience he should improve. It sounds horrible to say and hypocritical of me. But he reminds me of a tall Danny Welbeck at times, just falls over constantly, can never keep his balance. And for a 6'4 player, his ariel ability is shocking.

Jimmy never tapped a shot in his life, full on welly it every opportunity ha ha, even from a yard out ?. Loved him for that.

Of course Frank is going to say that. It was the only chance we had to win it at that point and to take the pressure off Tammy missing all 3. Just because Frank puts it in a nice way doesn't take away the difficulty of the chance.

November 29, 20205 yr The attention shouldn't be on Giroud's chance at the end, it's a good chance to score but not one he should definitely be scoring. He had a lot to with Lloris charging out and the angle made it awkward. The attention should be all on Abraham's missed chances. They were much easier and he should be scoring all 3 of them, or test the keeper at the very least.
November 29, 20205 yr I predicted a draw before though not a 0-0, with four yellows arguably we did well to get a point though we all know the match was there for the taking. James provided Tammy with two cracking crosses around the 50ish minute that should have been converted. Mount created an opening and produced a cracking shot that the keeper's fingertips saved, this is why I think Frank has him in the team when all the pretty football does not produce, Mount is the maverick that can change it through sheer grit, though not today. Kante was good most of the time though a couple of passes either over or under hit. Werner was not at his best though unlucky to be off-side, when Ziyech did find him often it was on his left foot and he mis-controlled. Kova played well, as did Silva. Ndombele had a moment where both Kante and Silva tried to dispossess him and in the end Silva fouled him, think Silva's diplomacy got him out of a booking. Tammy showed grit to win a corner down by the right touchline yet was generally frustrating today and Zouma had a bad moment though deserved his yellow. Havertz and Pulisic had little effect. I would have liked to see Giroud earlier. For me a point earned rather than two lost.

The flight of the ball was also difficult to score from, it would've took some technique to put that over Lloris with how slow it was coming down and how close Giroud was to the ball at the time.

The way I see it, the only way he can score that is to lob the keeper whilst going full stretch at the tightest of angles. If he was faster then maybe he could have had a better chance. That being said focusing on Giroud missing one of the deciding moments of the game is moving the conversation away from the fact that Tammy wasted 3 chances and us being a good defensive unit as well.
November 29, 20205 yr Good performance, fair result, hate to admit but spurs are a top side and we bossed them. We were just missing that little bit of magic today which made for an incredibly boring match. For all of us that endured the whole match I think we deserve an extra beer tonight and a pat on the back. No need for petty arguments with personal attacks (even if they are fun to witness). Everyone have a little drink and relax and most importantly KTBFFH

Had Tammy taken his chances Giroud opportunity would be irrelevant. Tammy leading the line will not win us champion Timo needs to start down to middle now.

I think giroud should have made more of the chance but it wasn't as big a chance as some are making out, it would have taken some scoring. The fact Tammy didn't get any one of those on target was much more concerning, he looked hesitant and on the back foot for some reason. He should be all over chances like that.

November 29, 20205 yr Overall not a bad result Regrettably with missed chances form our awkward forwards. Any loss would blow the players confidence away. I feared a Spurs goal more than us scoring honestly.
