They were all terrible under Lampard as well (apart from pre-injury Pulisic)

Pulisic was unbearably bad under Lampard aside for his 3 week purple patch post lockdown.

In the 29 league games we played prior to lockdown Pulisic had scored in 3 of them and had 2 assists.

It's a myth he performed well under Lamps, people just remember the 3 weeks he looked good against not match fit defenders many of which had nothing to play for and hyped him up all summer but his standard level that season was as poor as it is now.

If Tuchel does eventually go, and whoever comes in. What’s the betting that this current group of players begin to look like world beaters again?

It feels like one step forward and two back at the moment, we played really well against Spurs and deserved to win, unlucky to draw. Then battered by Leeds. Done really well to beat Leicester with 10 men and then get out played by Southampton.

I can take losing when you put in a fight, and there keeper has a worldie. But that wasn’t the case tonight. I genuinely don’t think we had a shot on target after Sterling’s goal.

Is it players that are out of form and TT is trying to play them into form, or has the manager “lost the players”? Because once that happens it’s very difficult to get them back.

Are they worse players than what Southampton and Leeds have?

Not much better honestly, put Southampton and Leeds attackers in our team and they'd get similar returns

Maybe our attackers apart from Sterling are all sh*te

They aren't though are they  they aren't sh*te at all. They definitely are good enough to beat Southampton,  Leeds an all the other teams we've struggled with over the past 12 months.

People claim our squad is the problem, but it's better than 18 others in this league.

Who's great beside Sterling?

None of them have done anything to be classified as great.

But put Mbappe, Haaland, Kane or Lewandowski in this team TT has built, or any combination of them, then the result will be the same. Our attackers cannot thrive or deliver all the time we play slow, predictable and backwards football.

Chelsea best defender is Silva

Christensen spent more than half of his time on the bench

You got Cucurella and Koulibaly to replace them

Tuchel couldn't get anything out of a $100M striker

The entire attack and midfield got worse under his tenure

When the ship sinks, people look at the captain.

How can you blame a world renowned successful captain when most of the crew have never shown the ability to sail in their lives?

Mbappe was scoring for fun under Tuchel, Aubamyang was scoring 40 a season

How long would you give TT? And who would your preferred replacements be?

I don't think this crop are like psst generations. They lack talent and don't have it in them. We've wasted alot of money on not signing a single world class player.

Did Tuchel set up his Dortmund or PSG teams to play slow football, knocking it around the CBs for 75 mins each game?

Go now, bring in Potter.

Exactly, we still haven't replaced Hazard 4 years on

When we were doing well though it never felt sustainable. Relying on keeping clean sheets to win games and mostly goals from defenders.

Soon as the defence stop keeping clean sheets we got exposed. There is not enough goals and creativity in this team.

As soon as we got behind in a game, i never have any faith we are going to come back, where are the goals going to come from?.

They were both very possession orientate teams, difference is their attackers could actually finish

Most of this current crop downed tools under Lamps and then were champions of Europe under Tuchel 4 months later.

Not predicting that will happen but the bulk of this squad have shown they can improve their game again once the manager is changed.

Sterling is already on three goals and one assist and that's with playing beside Havertz & Mount who's been completely useless all season.

His quality is shining through and there is absolutely nothing to suggest any other top players quality wouldn't. "Just" another player that could actually beat and outpace a man and pick a good pass would transform us offensively. Tuchel have even said so himself that he's desperate for someone like that and I fully agree with him.

Mount and Havertz are completely predictable and incredible easy to play against for any team. Not good dribblers, not good passers and not even good finishers.

Yeah our defense has declined hugely and it's hard to pinpoint why. Maybe no longer having a fit prime Kante?

It's not remotely close.  It's better than 15 of them at the most.

Good enough to have beat Leeds and Southampton.

But if you think this team has enough goals in it under any manager to compete with Kane/Son/Richarlison and Kuluveski or Jesus/Saka/Martenelli and Odegard over 38 games you simply don't know football.

We can do fine in cup games but over a league season smaller teams will sit back, we'll fall behind occasionally and we just don't have the fire power to break them down or change games.

Where are the goals or the attacking options for Tuchel?

The only top quality attacking option we have has just scored his 3rd goal in 2 games.

It's been like this for 12 months. New ownership has sod all to do with the way we play.

12 months you say? Not like we were pumping teams with great performances and top of the league in December last year? Which preceded an unprecedented collection of injuries to starting players, sanctions, and contractual issues. Fast-forward to a chaotic window, with no DOF, having additional responsibilities and having to navigate a bunch of incomings and attempted outgoings.

"It's been like this for 12 months" - perspective, 2022.

Dont think he is a big enough name to handle the Chelsea dressing room. He has been immense, but do worry about the egos.

I disagree, because of the way he has handled players leaving Brighton, ironically one of them being Cucurella. I'm not sure why people think managers can't handle egos, if he gets the owners backing any manager can be forthright and demanding.

So we are back to relying on individuals to win us games....

That is an awful way to run and manage a team, hoping for 1 or 2 individuals to bring the quality. We need a squad, with a defined effective way of playing, a plan b for the wet wednesday night in stoke, a bit of grit and will to win, and a coherent system that creates chances.

We have none of that at the moment.
