Real Madrid v Chelsea (CL Semi-Final 1st leg) Tue 27th Apr 2021 20:00 GMT

Featured Replies

We are a distant 4th favorite imo but we were in 2012 so you never know.

However if we do manage to get past Real I am just not sure how, with our feeble offence, we could hope to score at least 2 or more goals against City or PSG because at full strength I just dont see that happening and us keeping them out.

A few days on from all the ESL shenanigans and I still don't give a flying f**k about the rest of the season ... 😞

My concern is the players feel exactly the same way.

Real just played 0:0 against Pelegrini’s Betis at home.

Hazard came on in the 75th minute.

Thanks for the info, looks like they are once again struggling in La Liga even after they won against Barcelona not so long ago...

Though this could mean that they are very much focused on the Champions League glory once again and simply can't motivate themselves to get the job done against smaller teams.

Hazard was simply destined to face us, you can't make this stuff up...

I think the team is obvious for this one:

                           Mendy

   James    Azpi     Silva   Rudi    Chilli

                    Kante  Jorginho

          Mount                         Werner

                           Havertz

Thats our strongest 11 at the moment missing kova and one of those AM positions could go Pulisic or Ziyech on form but I think even when Werner isn’t scoring his pace causes problems.

I like the Werner ziyech combo but you need mounts industy. I could even see a case for timo up top with mount and ziyech but I’m certain havertz starts up top.

Real are struggling due to injuries, also Varane and Valverde having coronavirus.

They dont quite have the squad of past and the last 3 league games Reals teamsheet hasnt been great, plus Modrics age is catching up with him now. Chelsea actually have quite abit better squad than Real

Mount is the only guarantee for me to start.  I would be surprised if Pulisic didnt start also.  Could be the same front 3 as today.

Just looking them up on their last 4 games.

Since starting at Anfield Toni Kroos has not played for Real, missing the squad for the last 2 games.

Sergio Ramos has not been involved in the squad at all since the last round of internationals.

Real have 3 0-0 games in the past 4, the other being a 0-3 win at Cadiz, no goals conceded in that time.

Clearly they have a strong defence and we know they have a class keeper. I wonder what the situation is with Ramos and Kroos is.

Zidane said that Kroos and Mendy will be back for chelsea. I have seen pictures of Ramos having individual training sessions but I don't think he will be back for the first leg..

Unfortunately hazard looked class in his 13 Min cameo yesterday. He actually looked like the hazard of old with his neat flicks and arrogant passes.

@Valerie your thoughts?

he was ref at Real 3:1 win vs Atalanta in March. I smell a rat ...

and of course Referee Danny Makkelie said he apologised to Portugal coach Fernando Santos after not giving Cristiano Ronaldo the winner against Serbia.

We are f**ked.

Add to that the ref for the second leg being none other than Anthony Taylor...lol

Just joking, refs cannot ref clubs from their own nation in the CL. Just thought I would show it could be a lot worse lol.

I like anybody who pisses off Cristiano Ronaldo   :laugh2:

Makkelie is generally respected in my country. Hopefully he sees through any Madrid playacting. But a UEFA referee is a UEFA referee...

Beautiful games ahead. My only concern is we bailed on ESL and Real president is the father of that project. Maybe there is some underlying backroom things brewing rahat might spill to the games.

Anyway lovely to see Eden play. Hopefully we are able to produce something similar we did against Atletico.

Said elsewhere will say again, all our RWB won't be able to stop Eden, he is just too good. Our best hope is the Kante twins are at their very best. 1 runs midfield, the other man marks Eden.
