We better start getting some titles in before it starts getting really hard to win. Last I heard was that is has been relaxed and that they are reviewing things. As it stands, I think Newcastle can go all out. Wouldn't it be funny if they got relegated this season? 😆

Been watching the Fever Pitch: Rise of the Premier League on iPlayer and episode 3 focuses on the Keegan years. And I was thinking- is that it? They almost won the league in one season, running United close and that means they are a big club? Pur-lease…
October 7, 20214 yr The new owners are talking about a desire to win the league and become the world's best club. Maybe they will be aiming for even better players than the ones I put forward. Imagine if they just dropped 2 billion on the transfer market in Jan and had a side on paper to rip City or PSG lol.
October 7, 20214 yr I reckon it will be Conte to replace Bruce. A proven winner, and they sorley need that and if they give him enough cash to spend I think he will take it.

Love a bit of The Electric Mouse himself!
October 7, 20214 yr I expect the new owners to try things to circumvent some of the rules but this is an indication of what they face ffp wise. Will definitely be able to improve the squad obviously but to take the side from a relegation candidate to title contender will take a lot of time and money. Look how much utd have spent over last few years and they are still struggling to get over the line. Plus chelsea, citeh, utd will continue to invest a lot and a lot of players will still favour them over Newcastle, even if the wages are bigger. Not sure what Liverpool will do once the cycle of this current side comes to an end as their owners appear to be more reluctant to spend big now. https://www.nytimespost.com/saudi-takeover-will-allow-newcastle-united-to-spend-200m-on-the-squad-without-breaching-ffp/ Edited October 7, 20214 yr by The Brit
October 7, 20214 yr Author Well this will be interesting! Still keeping my fingers crossed for a QPR-style meltdown which involves pissing ludicrous sums of money away on misfits and idiots. Trying to imagine what a QPR circa 2012 team might look like in the present day: Kepa Bellerin Tarkowski (think Chris Samba for £18m) Phil Jones Mendy Paredes/Bakayoko Alli Barkley Coutinho Traoré Lacazette

We did it, City did it and now possibly Newcastle do it. It will be interesting to see if they do reach the heights of City or go to around the Leicester level. No doubt fans of Man Utd, Arsenal and Liverpool will be crying which is always a good thing. especially the mickey mousers, I can see it now "you aint got no....". Personally I dont care some geordies are quite gobby about their club even though they haven't won the league since 1922! they'll be even worse now, but I say bring it on .
October 8, 20214 yr Now Newcastle got loads of money, could we afford a few players to get our money back? Surely Ziyech could get games there, 50M?

Unlike City, Chelsea or PSG, Newcastle are starting from rock bottom and do not have the allure of a world city to entice younger players. Post-Brexit work permit laws will prevent them adopting a Sevilla/Dortmund/RB Leipzig approach of collecting young talent and top 4 is probably beyond them this season. That restricts them to young British players carrying a premium, or established players that won't mind playing in Europa. There are plenty of players out there who will fit that bill - Barcelona, Madrid and Juve execs will be thanking their lucky stars.
October 8, 20214 yr Newcastle have always had huge attendances and they've been in profit for quite a while now iirc. The Saudi man taking over has 20x the net worth of Abramovich and is crazy ruthless. Fecking barcodes will probably spend like no tomorrow Just hope they can help clear our duds before finally realizing the importance of building a team Edited October 8, 20214 yr by Deino
October 8, 20214 yr So another bunch of fans that spent the last twenty years accusing us of ruining football and buying trophies are delighted to now ruin football and buy trophies.

No, it's different apparently because they have always been a big club and clubs like Chelsea and City have no history 😐 I did laugh seeing the Newcastle fans singing "we have our club back".........I don't really know what club they think they have now, but it's not one any of them have ever seen in their lifetime. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if their stadium gets renamed, I wonder what those people saying "we have our club back" will think about that. Edited October 8, 20214 yr by Scott Harris
October 8, 20214 yr Suspect the best fans in the world on Merseyside will find it the hardest to accept.
October 8, 20214 yr I expect Perez has probably already rung the new Toon owners to offer them Arsenal's place in his Super League ... :-) Expecting them to trigger a few buy-out clauses in January ... probably too cold and grey up there for South American and Mediterranean types to stick around for more than a couple of seasons though.
October 8, 20214 yr Kessie is a no-brainer. He can join on a "free" transfer with huge wages. they will have to improve their team while having or keeping a certain amount of english players. Barkley i can imagine would be a good player for them.
October 8, 20214 yr Having loads of money and throwing it to the team does not equate to winning competitive titles as PSG shows us (or even City in Europe). They can bring in as many wc players they want, they'll need to get them play as a team. Plus, the more wc players in the changing room the more egos confronting each other, and more probability of having a destabilised team. Still, I don't mind having another club at the top 4, 5 or 6, the more competitive the PL the better quality of matches we'll watch at Stamford Bridge and away.
October 8, 20214 yr So Conte is expected to look towards some of his former clubs if he accepts Newcastles offer to take over from Bruce. From Inter he is said to want Skriniar, Martinez and Handanovic. From Chelsea he wants Kovacic and Alonso. He is also said to want to bring in all 3 of Rudiger, Christensen and Dave IF they don't sign new deals. Basically he wants our current defence with a little Inter Milan mixed in lol Handanovic Dave Christensen Skriniar Rudiger Alonso

October 8, 20214 yr If Newcastle spends a lot they will become a top 6 team in no time and from there they will just keep rising. Teams like Wolves and West Ham have nothing to hope for in that scenario. Edited October 8, 20214 yr by Gol15
