July 19, 20224 yr Hotter than spain and cant get any sleep and now barca are after another target, One we seemingly moved on from? For the love of christ!!
July 19, 20224 yr Sevilla holding out for €60m+ for Jules Kounde. They prefer a straight-cash deal and are hoping for a bidding war potentially taking fee closer to €65m. Chelsea hopeful of agreeing a fee this week. Barcelona yet to formally bid with Sevilla waiting to see what comes from them. Sources close to Kounde say he’s excited by the arrival of Kalidou Koulibaly and the chance to learn from him. But Xavi has made it clear to Joan Laporta he thinks Kounde is a top priority, and that’s why Barca are expected to move imminently. Still an open race.
July 19, 20223 yr Barça president Laporta: "After Lewandowski deal, we are now looking at strengthening the defense". 🔵🔴 #FCB "We competed with PSG and Chelsea for Lewandowski and he wanted to come to us, we must thank him because he gets less money from us".

Think we'd be more than fine. 1) Silva will likely leave after this season and anyway we can't expect him to play a major number of games at his age. 2) James will play more as a wingback and counting him as cover for both wingback and fullback will just increase his workload and risk of injury. 3) We will have to enter the market and begin negotiations with someone to replace Silva. So if a good player is available now then shouldn't be a problem. 4) World cup year, hectic schedules, injuries make this lineup paper thin. There is a steep decline in the PL experience and quality of a second lineup consisting of Kounde, Ampadu and Colwill. Edited July 19, 20223 yr by Nick05
July 19, 20223 yr Barcelona are incredibly smug for a club that have been behaving appallingly. Anyway, will be nice watching Xavi fail to build a cohesive team.
July 19, 20223 yr There is likely a limit to what Barca can spend even if it doesn’t seem like it. They haven’t as yet sold either Depay or de Jong. However Barca can certainly spend the money.

July 19, 20223 yr Sevilla are clearly tying to encourage a bidding war. It’s a fine balance of getting the deal done but not over paying and getting caught up in games.

Frankly, if we want him then we should do what we need to get it over the line. £5m in the grand scheme of things is nothing, and much better to get him in the squad and training/integrating, rather than trying to penny pinch

July 19, 20223 yr He had knee surgery and then seemingly we walked away, Its possible his knee is now fine and properly rehabilitated but I have doubts due to his age, Young with knee problems can be a nightmare If he goes barca over us i don't think we have lost a huge asset tbh We need a striker and a mid, Esp if Alonso isn't going to barca too although i feel that's scumbag barca using media to barter for lower fee I hope barca fold at this point tbh, Absolute scam club
July 19, 20223 yr Chelsea’s €55m bid plus bonuses for Jules Kounde has been rejected by Sevilla. The La Liga club is expecting €65m to sell the France international. {Goal Espana}

Am not sure why they make it so easy for others like Spurs for Gil and Villa for the other CB they sold this window.

Hopefully the club has some other targets as De Ligt, Kimpembe Ake and now Kounde appear to be out of reach. Edited July 19, 20223 yr by axman2526

Probably for the same reason we'd make it easy for someone to sign Michy or Barkley but not James and Mount.

I said it largely in jest but the main point is the lesser players are always easier to get. We could have shopped in the same market Arsenal and Spurs have been and had our business done by mid June.
