Let’s do this! Dave is a legend, but is legs have gone at top level. Chalobah is superb, but competition is good and we play enough games for it to work out. 
 

3 from 5 - Silva, Koulibaly, Kounde, Chalobah, Colwill. If we have to add, Reece or Dave (assuming he stays). 

Kounde, just like Ake, is the most underwhelming name we're linked with. IMO. And to be fair even if we are linked with him since last summer, I believe he was the former board's target, not Tuchel's.

The price is decent and all the reports seem to indicate Sevilla need the money and want to sell the player, but for some reason nothing happens and all I read from Spanish outlets is that he has his heart set for Barcelona and waits for their offer.

I say good riddance. He is not that good to begin with and we should concentrate on Kimpembe.

Well somebody really managed to delay him signing, I just remember when Matic wanted to play for Jose despite Don Conte wanting to keep him just how fast that transfer was done, Jules might have agreed on personal terms but it looks like he could have been waiting for Barcelona during these few months...

I have no idea how good Colwill is, but lots of people seem to rate him highly and he is left footed. Kimpembe is left footed and reports say he likes Paris. I can't see how its a good idea to have three left footed centre backs.

Kounde is kind of a gamble but he is highly rated and started for France in the Nations League Final and made the Europa League team of the season. I have no idea about his recovery from recent operation or whether he really prefers Barca. Everyone else wants to go to Barca, must be the weather, as you don't get paid there. To be fair he is playing in Spain right now.

We need to add some speed to the defence, in my opinion, not just speed in getting the ball but in a back 3 moving the balll forward from defence to the mids and to the attack directly is really important. Kounde is quite quick from what I've seen.

Chiller , Koulibally Kounde and James would let us play a back four which makes room for say Gallagher in the midfield. But what would I know sitting here at a keyboard in Sydney?

Yeah Sevilla want a bidding war and are trying to provoke it. Dealing with them is a pain.

I think we are now moving really fast now. If it's really true that we be submitted offer for both Kipembe and Kounde, then Boehly is finally getting off his ass. The quicker we sort out the defensive issues, the quicker we can get our acts others and look to other areas we need reinforcement. E.g  Depy is rumoured to be on the market for 15m. If Broja is been sold, we can make a play for him although personally, I would prefer Aubameyang.

Barcelona mortgaging their future to make a few signings this summer. I hope it comes back to just ramrod them right in the keister

Why sign both though? What's the plan. Silva to play back up to a back 3 of Kimpembe, Koulibaly and Kounde?

That's good of him. He's leaning more towards Chelsea but waiting on Barcelona, because of what?

a) better chance of domestic honours? With a back line of Azpi, Christensen and Alonso against the likes of Valverde, Benzema and Vinicius. Do me a favour. They have already conceded La Liga.

b) better chance of CL glory? Same. If they won't be able to compete in their own two team league they have feck all chance in the Champions League. In true Kevin Keegan style, I would looove it if they crash out in the group stages and then get stuffed in the Thursday Cup.

c) better financial package. That's a hoot. The weekly salary might be lower here than there but the big difference....at least you'll bl00dy well get paid here rather then waiting on the Wonga boys to come up with another Delek trrotter scam.

It may look one too many but we are literally one injury away from being screwed. And it will be difficult for Silva at his age to play a large number of games. Signing 3 defenders is just about ideal given Toni & Christensen have left and likely Azpi also will. And most likely next year Silva too will go.

I had my rant in a post a little earlier in this thread, packed up my laptop, grabbed an Estella from the fridge and went out to the garden with the missus. I took a first swig out of the bottle and noticed Barcelona imprinted in the glass at the neck of the bottle

I agree, I don't think we need Kounde AND Kimpembe, one would do. That replaces both Christensen and Rudiger and leaves the door open for the likes of Colwill and Chalobah to get a decent amount of game time and continue to progress. I would prefer another loan for Colwill, but at the same time, some are saying he is ready now, so I would be open for him to stay and give him a chance.

JUST IN: Jules Koundé will sign for Chelsea in coming hours. Game over for Barcelona.
