July 4, 20224 yr I’d like ake de ligt and Kounde if we are playing a back 3. If a back 4 then can skip Kounde. if we could get those 3, sterling and for a bonus milankovic via some bs swap that won’t happen I’d see it as a good window. Personally I think raphina is good but I could live with sterling havertz Werner. actually think the weak link is havertz I guess he plays the false 9 but you don’t need a false 9 if you got a real one.

Havertz has looked very good at times and as a false 9 with sterling I think the downside of his game (not enough goals) will be offset by sterling being a better goalscorer than the wingers currently at the club. I thought when we got Havertz in that he would have been the perfect successor to firminho at Liverpool and we did excellent business by getting him. I think I've said it before that after the champions League win I wanted Chelsea to go for a goalscoring winger instead of a striker and I'm glad that now Lukaku is gone that it looks like Tuchel is wanting to go that way. There will be games where a striker is needed and I think that Broja will get plenty of games where it's needed
July 4, 20224 yr If De Ligt is off to Bayern please don't return for Kounde. Sevilla have said as of tomorrow they would not accept less than his 80mill release clause and l we will have that game of chicken that we would lose till the end of the window again.

He’s built like a gladiator, has more experience playing in a back 3 than Kounde, better stats despite being younger, a natural born leader who has been a humble well spoken leader everywhere he’s gone, especially for Ajax and the national team. As I’ve said elsewhere, he has been playing out of position on the left side for most of his Juve career and this has led to misguided opinions on him. The fact we have the foresight & ambition to go after De Ligt is something to be excited about, Kounde abused his mum as a child and still has anger issues, sees a psychiatrist, De Ligt is a humble chad who’s ready to be the next captain of this football club. Agree De Ligt is better than Kounde (as he should be given his considerably heftier price tag). I was thinking more about Kounde being an alternative to Ake, given that the difference in their reported prices is "only" around £10m.

For me signing Ake would be an indication that for now it would be Ake de Ligt and Silva but moving forward Ake is rotational and colwill is the starter. If colwill wasn't here then I would imagine that we'd be looking at players like Gvardiol, Bastoni, Pau Torres or the Monaco centre back instead of Ake.

July 15, 20224 yr Lot of reports that this is back on. If we add both Kounde and Kimpembe in addition to Koulibaly that would be quite a wild window. A good mix of ages and the total price for the 3 defenders is reasonable in my opinion.

July 15, 20224 yr If we meet Sevillas price quickly this can still happen, if not they will demand the full release price of what 80mill euros and no way we pay that imo.

Sevilla were supposedly asking for about 60m right? Barcelona were also supposedly interested, although they are probably held back until they sort out the mess with De Jong.

Is Kingkladze still about
July 15, 20224 yr AC, Rudiger and Azpi on the way out. No real long-term for Thiago. Thiago is a bonus at this point. we NEED at least 3 CB's. All the K's. K2, Kempy, Kounde.

I'm still worried about our attack and midfield. The midfield is so injury prone and they seem to struggle to last a full season playing high intensity football, and I don't think Sterling alone will suddenly make our attack so much better than last season.

I keep seeing bits on Nunes but that seems to have gone quiet recently

It could still happen because de Jong is being a pain in the arse for Barca, his owed wages and refusal to transfer for £70m+ means they can't register their latest signings. Kounde wants to move now and if he can't have Barca it could well be Chelsea.
