I understand why fans are angry with Gallagher leaving but I can't blame the club because I don't know everything that has been discussed. We know little bits of information by journalists and that is it. 

Conor could be very interested to go to Madrid. 

Our offer could be very reasonable.

I really don't think a player and the club is in a war. Why would they be?

This is always a point in life where the player can with little stress, look at his options. Conor might talk with his girlfriend about living in Madrid. Young people today look at work in a way it fits in your life. Mount took a leap although he played for us from the age 8. 

And Conor leaving could be a good thing for the club as well. Maybe we comply with very tight PSR rules. It would be for the good for the club.

I love Conor and don't understand why we are even discussing it. I hope he signs a new deal. However I know next to nothing, as do you, about what is being discussed.

The bloke who that is CFC Accountability is dreadful and he's definitely not from Southwark either. "Chelsea have explained to Conor Gallagher that he would not be a regular starter under Enzo Maresca with the Italian's possession-based approach.

The 24-year-old midfielder is believed to have told the Blues that he wanted to be a starter when negotiating a new contract in June, which he turned down because it was only a two-year-deal with an option for a further season.

The short length of the contract was deemed in the best interest of both parties when offered as Gallagher was not judged to be an ideal fit for Maresca's new approach.

It is believed the club offered Gallagher other contracts at various points down the years.

The England international will now decide whether to join Atletico Madrid or risk staying at Chelsea in a squad role after a bid of around £33m was accepted on Wednesday.

He has less than one year left on his current deal and could leave on a free transfer next summer.

Tottenham remain admirers but are not expected to challenge the Spanish club for his signature this month. Newcastle, West Ham and Everton also previously showed an interest in Gallagher.

Gallagher would stay at Chelsea on the right terms - the homegrown midfielder loves the club and believes he could make it work under new manager Maresca.

Chelsea have offered him three new deals to date and each came after bids from Premier League rivals, with the last coming after Aston Villa tried to sign him for £45m when he was reluctant to be part of a swap deal.

There are concerns Gallagher could be dropped from the first-team squad like Trevoh Chalobah, but he will not be part of the US tour simply as he was given an extended holiday after Euro 2024."

Okay..so it is also Conor and not just the club...he has his demands and has rejected 3 offers. Greatest deals have many times been the most difficult to strike. Hopefully that happens. Clearly Conor is pushing and the club is not budging. 

If Conor is demanding a starting role you can't dismiss that in judging this whole saga.

Personally I think Gallagher would be nuts not to take the Atletico opportunity. Quite clearly not in the manager's plans and gets to move to a good champions league team.

This situation is so messy on both sides. I can understand Connor’s reluctance to join Madrid, players of his calibre rarely fair well in the la liga 

I reckon he will go late in the window to a premier league club.

Once it sinks in he won’t be playing every week he will move on to the club that shows him they want him the most. And it won’t be near the £57.5 million deal that was agreed with Villa.

Stop being so reasonable! It doesnt fit the "owners are bad" narrative/agenda that many are trying to push.

Sounds a bit like Palmer at City and in the end he went to another PL team and look what happened to him!

Personally if it is true that he has been offered the same money as Enzo the younger and Caicedo for 2 years - plus one - if i were him i would take that.

If you want to talk Palmer though, I wouldn't even credit the board and give more of the credit to Poch and Palmer himself! If you buy enough sh*t and start throwing it at a wall, there is a chance that a few will stick!

I really don't understand using Palmer as successful story. 

I gave 90% credit to Palmer, 10% to Poch. Last year was basically Palmer debut in senior season. To be able to perform that consistently for your debut season is unheard of.

There are a lot of talk about Palmer as an example of our board successful strategy. 

But the fact that Palmer performed well got nothing to do with our board strategy. To be able to perform as Palmer did last year was unheard of, I gave far more credit to Palmer and Poch than our board.

The way I read it is Conor wants to stay, he's CFC thru and thru. The owners want rid as they need the 100% profit for their business situ. So they offer him a contract, which when compared to the 7-8 year contracts handed out to all last season, feels and most likely is, a bit cheap. This is non-negotiable. We are between a rock and a hard place. I honestly do not believe Conor would do anything to damage the club (ie let his contract run out), but he rightfully resents the way this is being handled. He is young, an England International, and honestly one of our best performers last season. If he stays, in all likelihood, he'll outstay the current manager, who has done nothing but make me fearful for the season. The real problem here is the septic's running the club. I was duped by them early doors, but now think they are treating our club like a stock market game. Buying young prospects in the hope that they become valuable assets, rather than proven players that actually bring us trophies. Bloody yanks.. 

He didn't even get a chance to work ( maybe even meet) Enzo, and he's not required because we are going to play possession football? If he had a week with the team, I could understand where the decision comes from. I get the needs to sell him before he walks away free, but saying he's no longer going to make it to the team without a single training session is a bit of a joke. Given our injury record, he will probably be the only fit senior MF player be October.
