He's only 23. If the top 3 inches are okay then I'm confident he'll make it. I don't have evidence for this, my guess is that the people who have retired early from serious injuries weren't going to make it in any case, mainly due to their personalities/mental strength.

What a ridiculous thing to say.

I think he’ll be first choice before long. Give the guy a break. It might take him a few months to get up to speed but class is permanent.

He's had enough of a break

Don't look back, you'll turn into a pillar of the stuff.

I understand what guys mean I think, granted if you sign for a top football club you're probably mentally strong, however I'm not buying that they're all mentally strong.  I believe that a few players who have had long or longish injuries over the years, amongst the top clubs of Europe haven't always had the injuries that the clubs claim. I think they've been out due to possible illegal drug taking, in most cases cocaine, or mental health issues. I follow the NRL, things are more open and transparent in the NRL, things aren't hushed up as much or swept under the carpet as much as they are in football, one of the reason is that there's not as much money involved.

These footballers are only human, granted I suppose in some ways they are superhuman, but nonetheless they're still only human.

Was very vocal about his performances in pre-season but i think him and Levi are going to make a great pair going forward after watching yesterdays game. Really like his physicality and happy to leave one in on a player.

Him and colwill have got very good potential, I worry about the fitness issues of both and the other cbs behind them. If Chalobah wasn’t being forced out I’d have a lot more faith in the defence this season.

Needs to get his positioning and anticipation better. The first goal was given up, simply because he was pulled too wide.

And Colwill ran in a small circle.

i thought the silva deflection wrong footed our defence.. had silva caught it better that goal doesnt happen.. when the team aint doing well you concede such scrappy goals and never score them.. and the other way around when you are in form..

I hope he stays fit because he will be like a new signing. Both him and Levi will form a strong defence.

We did still concede two goals and were horrible from set pieces again. I don't think any of our CB's are the best at positional awareness and strength from set pieces. On another day, it's us conceding 6 goals. Wolves had a ton of chances in the first half. The pair of them still have a hell of a lot to learn.

They will get better together this is there second game starting as a pair. They will make more mistakes but eventually I believe they will form a top partnership.

They won’t just click as a partnership from game one. This is like signing two new CBs to build a base on.

Everyone in this system is starting from scratch and a lot of the mistakes seem to come from learning the system and where to be.
This will take time.

I agree and especially when you say everyone. The whole team including our inexperienced coach will make mistakes but the potential for all of them to grow together is beautiful to see (if the owners don't fk about again, that is).

I would love to see this team grow with a decent tactical coach, settled and learning every season. Hopefully these 2 won't make too many mistakes as they learn and Maresca is the right tactical coach for this squad.

Defense has looked a little loose, but season is so young. Actually impressed by the level Wes has performed at so far given he’s missed almost two years. Hope he can stay fit and cement his position.

Certainly looks better than he did in pre-season where it was like he was learning how to play football again.

If he stays fit I’ve no doubt he’s our best CB. What surprised me was his pace. Once he’s up to full fitness we have a top player.

I don’t think either Fofana or Colwill looked great first half vs Wolves but I’d argue the chaos ahead of them in midfield was at the root of that. If Tosin can get a bit of form then all the better because he’s probably next in line for minutes.

If we can get a couple of our CBs off the books in the next few days I wouldn’t be surprised if the Brazilian lad from Forest arrives.

I really like tosins attitude but I'm starting to doubt his abilities tbh. Need to see more of him but I think it's too early atm to mess about with the colwill fofana partnership. Maybe the grp stages of ecl, he can get some time on the pitch, but risky in the PL atm imo.
