I read he had a decent setback in his recovery. Diasi may not be a genius but at least he is available.

Not convinced this bloke will ever play for us. Ridiculous decision to buy this guy.  Its not as if the writing wasn't on the wall from the outset. What a crazy waste of money this is turning into.

That's the point right, we could only rely on those who are match fit. Fofana could be the greatest defender out there, but no use for us if he's never available. Didn't we take him to America for the medical? Whatever they did over there must have convinced the boss

Must not have had the Xray machine plugged in or the scanner to miss what's wrong with him.  Guaranteed to be sold at a cut price deal when he returns along withe one or two more of the crocked players.

The way things are going with Fofana, it is possible that he may never be able to play at top level again. I wonder if clubs can take out insurance policies to cover against scenarios like this?

We’d be talking about hundreds of thousands of monthly premiums if this existed.

I can't see anything online about an injury setback, can anyone post any info?

Eastenders actor 'was run over by £70m Chelsea defender Wesley Fofana in 2022 incident with the dad-of-two suffering a broken collarbone after being catapulted into the air by player's Lamborghini'

  • Chelsea star ran over Eastenders icon in December 2022 in crazy accident
  • Fofana was breathalysed at the scene and was not held responsible for incident

Eastenders actor Dean Gaffney broke his collarbone after being ran over by Chelsea star Wesley Fofana on a night out.

After being struck by the French centre-back's Lamborghini, Gaffney was treated at hospital for his injuries sustained.

Gaffney was hit while attempting to hail a cab on King's Road in Chelsea, West London, and was subsequently treated in the hospital before being released.

Fofana, a 23-year-old French international earning £230,000 per week, passed a breathalyser test at the scene and was not held responsible for the incident.

According to The Sun, a source said: 'It was a nasty accident and Dean said afterwards that he was lucky to be alive and was counting his blessings.

'He'd just left a nightspot and was trying to get in a black cab when the Lamborghini hit him in the midriff, catapulting him into the air.

'He was out cold and his mates were all really worried. The emergency services gave him pain relief and he was patched up in hospital.' The source told The Sun.

Gaffney only learned of Fofana's involvement later, and the footballer was reportedly unaware of the former EastEnders icon's identity.

The incident occurred in December 2022, and Gaffney did not discuss the accident publicly as no blame was assigned.

It happened just four months after Fofana joined Chelsea for £70m, making him one of the most expensive defenders in Premier League history.

Haven't seen anything online either about the alleged injury setback.

This is the one post I can find on Twitter, not a single other post about it. All it really says it what we already know, Fofana won't be risked until next season.

Makes the fee we paid for him worth it

Are you on twitter?

There's a current trend of him sending random horny messages to 20 year old girls. Really entertaining.

Wasn't it announced right at the beginning that he's out for the season?

Didn't know he ran over Robbie from Eastenders though. Shame he didn't have Wellard with him

Looking at the posts above it looks like Robbie spends most of his time Wellard

How much in wages has this ridiculous signing cost us

-£200kpw.

-22 appearances in 16 months of being at the football club.

-He's earned £12,800,000 since he's signed.

Club is spending more than half a million per appearance from Fofana. Like I said I wouldn't be surprised if he's amongst the ones being pushed out this summer.

I'd put him out of his misery and send him to the glue factory lifeless.

Held my head in my hands at this signing as we were signing a walking treatment table... If Mutu was still around, he could have crashed on Fofana for his nights out.

Not his fault he suffered two career defining injuries. (Leg break & ACL tear).

Maybe Real will be interested. Alaba and Nacho are getting up there in age.

Often forget he plays for us tbh

He's here for his contract anyway no one is taking him on a free with his wages and injury record.

He'd had 4 serious injuries and played more than 14 games in a season once in his career when we signed him and gave him a 7 year 200K a week contract.

Won't criticise him, Not the players fault our owners are morons.

According to capology he was on £19K a week at Leicester.

No idea why someone felt it was necessary to offer him £200K a week to join us ... like he wouldn't have joined for a 400% increase to £75-80K ... LOL

Sunday league negotiating skills ....

Was a bad idea to buy a player coming off a nasty leg break. But thats what happens when you have Tuchel in charge of recruitment.

He wasn't exactly first choice though was he ?

We spent ages pissing around trying for De Ligt and then Kounde ... I saw Fofana as a last minute panic buy (and hence expensive), but we had to do something after Rudiger and Christensen left for free ...
