April 4, 20251 yr Absolutely key that we keep Trev and give him a starting place. He's our best centre back.

April 5, 20251 yr Out for the season.Honestly we should put him up for sale and take whatever offer comes in. What’s the point, he’s injured all the time.

An amount nobody would pay most probably. Knowing Chelsea's financial situation is pretty stable, yet can't take any hits in order to invest even more, I think the club will wait until at least the summer of 2027 when his FFP value will be 20M and there is a higher chance to sell him and also register a profit in the books.I think there would be enough clubs willing to take either on loan with an obligation to buy if they make x amount of appearances.I’d still keep both especially Lavia.
April 5, 20251 yr Fofanas wages are too high. He is on 200k a week. He will Sit it out here for at least 3 of his remaining 4 seasons, imo. Maybe will accept loans as long as his wages are still at that level.Nobody will pay him what we are, so he has to make his fortune off this deal, then get what he can elsewhere after his time with us is done.
April 6, 20251 yr 34 games in 3 seasons in all competitions. Absolute joke of a footballer.Chuck him and Lavia in the mincing machine and make dog food out of them. Edited April 6, 20251 yr by Gordon Bennett

All 3 of them, when fit, I think make our team better. But the cost of keeping them (both money and the opportunity cost of not replacing them) isnt worth it with so few games being played.

Possibly even Broja, who might have been a decent option up top without injuries

On the very rare occasions they're fully fit
April 6, 20251 yr Remember in January when Maresca said he was out for the season and that he needed surgery, only for Fonana to deny that on social media and said he’d be back in a couple weeks? Played one game. Out for the seasonGetting surgery.

April 28, 20251 yr Club apparently opening the door to a loan or permanent exit this summer. Seems the sensible choice but i don't see any club willing to buy him, i imagine we'll be paying a portion of his 200k a week salary until 2029 when he walks for free. Averages less than 10 games a season since joining. We need a stable partner for Colwill, looks like Huijson is the choice. CB's shouldn't be chopped and changed, same partnership for minimum 30 league games.
April 28, 20251 yr Exclusive coming out of France: Chelsea have opened the door to the sale or loan of Wesley Fofana due to repeated injuries. Marseille interested. (@Santi_J_FM @sebnonda) #CFC
April 28, 20251 yr Always imagined a loan move to Marseille or permanent move to Saudi the only viable options. He just can’t be on our books anymore. Hoping Sarr impresses at the Club World Cup so he can replace Fofana.

April 28, 20251 yr No point in keeping him, Chalobah, although both at their peak, probably not as good but he’s far more reliable. It is a shame because I was a huge admirer of Fofana at Leicester and was pretty excited when we signed him.
April 28, 20251 yr When he's fit he's a top defender imo, but 'when he's fit' is just too rare. If we were thinking about shipping him out I'm not sure who's gonna be willing to spend the money on him, as a player he's worth not far off what we paid, but given his injury record anyone buying him is taking a massive punt. Could a team like Marseille afford to spent even £20m on him? A huge chunk of their transfer budget on someone who might not even play half of their games.

If they don’t get an European place, he will move here and then get loaned back to Strasbourg.

Only reports I see are that from theAthletic that suggests we may leave him at Strasbourg for another season. Given the news we want Fofana gone and Chalobah who is likely to leave too, this presents a perfect opportunity for Sarr.
