September 7, 20223 yr In all honesty, we lost against some of the worst CL club ever that all other big teams use for a goal difference boost. He can't blame nobody but himself, I knew that at some point he needed to get our attack going and having only 3 shots on target against a team that has a total value of 90m is just terrible. More conceded goals than goals scored.

Honestly I am still in shock and laughing at this mess. I cannot believe qe spent so heavily in the window to back TT and then sack him immediately. He was just biggin up Auba as hungry, his guy and he worked with him for just 3 quarters of a game and now he will likely sulk on his big fat contract. It is hilarious in its madness. What long term thinking is this if you are planning for weeks to remove TT?

September 7, 20223 yr The fans deserve an explanation from Todd or at least a spokesperson. Wasn't one of the things he promised before buying the club a more open relationship with the fans?

Poch I never fully rated as figured he had lucked out with some world class players and never actually won anything which he should have. 24 minutes ago, coco said: And more to the point, what chance has Potter got with that attitude from Todd ? From the sounds of things Boehly wanted Auba as well. he's a good signing regardless of who the manager is. Todd will want to see the team improving. Every manager who we see has been given time by other clubs is seeing an upward trajectory with some dips. Tuchel has had a 6 month dip and no trajectory, I didn't see that with Arteta/Klopp or Pep

I knew I couldn't be the only Chelsea fan who had this view! He tried to do too much too quickly by phasing out the old guard back then.

September 7, 20223 yr This was my initial reaction too, like f**k you sacking our European champion like that but tbh, you could make a list of reasons why it makes sense football wise. Reports are coming out how he was not working well with the new hierachy as well, not wanting to be more involved with transfers and hiring a DOF, simply saying no to Ronaldo and not giving a thought out reason, it looks like he didn't manage up well and show respect to Boehly and just stuck to his old school coaching job focused on the pitch only.

Honestly the pitch is where he should have been concentrating. Says a lot about results, and maybe the blame sits with Todd.

Can't blame either really, owners wants this, but manager wants that, it's just not a good fit so it's goodbye. And when it comes to just focusing on the football he wasn't pulling up trees either, at that point Boehly has the right to ask why Tuchel deserves to be here.

They might have been Champions League whipping boys from 2010-2016, but the only team that has flogged them in Europe in the last 3 complete cycles of European football is Manchester City, and Dinamo are hardly alone in that in recent times. Tottenham with Jose Mourinho in charge were beaten 3-0 in Zagreb in R16 of the Europa League in April 2021. Orsic got a hat trick that night ...

We won the CL not so long ago, we should be winning them by all means by a few goals difference just like the rest of the big teams have done as historically they have been the + goal difference boost for any big team that came along, seriously reaching here if we're about to think that they are a decent team, would you be saying that same had we lost against a team like Norwich? Unless you actually want to compare us to Spurs...

Boehly has data points that he's using, they aren't idiots. Auba scores goals, has PL exp, should hit the ground running and provide the time for Broja to prove he's a long term number 9 or for us to go into the market next summer without City or Liverpool being our competition.
September 7, 20223 yr Not so sure what to make of this thread but I am seriously questioning our ability to function under him. Do we have anyone in the club currently who know something about football?

Dinamo also beat Sevilla in one of the legs in the Europa last year (the same Sevilla who practically own that trophy in recent years). Also beat West Ham away (Orsic goal again). Perhaps the team thought like you do ... that they just had to turn up for a 4-0 win or something ... ?

September 7, 20223 yr Boehly is not some dumb oil reach Arab fan boy who has no clue how to drive a high performance sports car, yet spend millions buying Lambos and Ferraris. He's an investor/business man. He didn't spend billions to buy Chelsea, and hundred of millions on players as a futbol fan. He's in it to make money, and he will. And the only way for him to get his ROI is for Chelsea to win trophies. He will get the right people to run this club (manager, director, president, etc.). Sure, some fans are going to disagree and hate him along the way, but the end results will speak for itself. Remember, if he doesn't get it right; he's at risk of losing millions if not billions of his investment. It's not like Boehly and his team just took over Chelsea yesterday and decided to sack Tuchel today. They have been assessing him, both on and off the pitch, over a period of time before making the decision. Take a deep breath, relax, and see what will transpires over the next 12-18 months. I am confident that Chelsea will be very competitive again and fighting for the league title, but there might be some bumps and pains along the way. Edited September 7, 20223 yr by haviet1
