Why would they back it ? That's like saying the PGA tour will back LIV tour.

They never would but that was not my point. I was not clear enough.

The club's backed down when they had the fans, the FA, the PL, Uefa and FIFA against them. If it had only been the fans against them would they have backed down?

It's well know now it was Chelsea fans that started the objections that quickly turned into a large scale protest within hours, the club thought it was serious enough to quickly squash it by denouncing the idea fully. Then the whole thing fell apart one by one other clubs in the EPL followed after their fans also protested. Imo it had absolutely nothing to do with what Uefa objections were, but once it became clear which side the fans were on they soon closed it down.

Fair enough. See what the new owners reply is if the fans ever turn on them in such a way.

His Brighton team scored 132 goals in the 120 PL games he was in charge for.

Even by midtable standards thats pretty poor, that's about 41 goals in a 38 game season. I'm not sure how he's going to get a better tune out of our attackers than Tuchel

To be honest if Sky/Murdoch were in on it then it would be a lot harder to stop unforunately.

We're already in two super leagues in all but name.

Typical ESPN, pulled a 'deep dive' only after last Saturday, we have been poor for a while now if anyone is really paying attention. Next 2 league games are vital important, it's only 1/3 of the season but I think our top 4 hope be done if we don't manage to get a win ( at least). We will get a bunch of fatigued players after the WC, so don't expect a good run either.

Potters been dropped into a big pile of doo doo up to his neck in it- the CFC squad that is. None of these players are his signings except ironically CooCoo-rella who Bully has remarkably dropped 62 mill quid on - which leads into my next point the summer signings are mostly puzzling and lbh have done nothing to improve the squad  CooCoo - was Alonso worse ? Fofana - crocked, Killbilly - lacks pace for a high pressing team, Carney - a prospect not ready, Sterling - being played out of position doesn't help his inability to score, Zakaria- even Saul got more minutes, Auba - gooners binned him and are now top of the league ! Then the most stupid act was extending Dave's contract and not signing a back up to Reece that was needed urgently after last season.

Bully had an opportunity to improve the squad over the summer but instead of waiting until he had pros in place DOF, DOR etc. he got hands on with disastrous effect, which in turn led to TT getting the tic tac; and what worries me a lot is come January we could have that muppet Ronaldo in the squad.

What's GP supposed to do with this squad ? Sarri, SFL and TT failed miserably and I doubt even Pep could get a tune out of them, gonna take a few more windows to fix the squad and us lot better get used to top 10 football, just hope we don't suffer the indignity of Europa Conference league next season Id rather have no Europe than that 2 bob codswallop.

Patience is the name of the game here, something which in 2022 is in short supply in all walks of life

Hi! Brighton fan here - just watched your video and noticed you mentioning about positions and stuff, I'd get used to seeing players playing out of position, from when he came in to about 8 matches before he left the lineups were chaotic... he played Pascal Grob for us at LB once and it went dreadfully, he played a young striker we had called "Zeqiri" as LWB, things were constantly changing to the point you couldn't guess a Potter 11 week to week at one point and I'm not exaggerating... He wont find players and settle now, it's going to take a long long time and don't assume players current positions or positions under Tuchel matter because he looks at them with a clean sheet and him sticking Mendy at LWB wouldn't suprise me and if you say that to a Brighton fan they'll laugh and nod like it's a likely possibility. You're in for a wiiiiild ride. This was Brighton fans biggest concerns about Potter going to Chelsea, he will do the exact opposite of what the fans are thinking... if a player isn't playing well he'll keep playing them, he'll be putting players in unusual positions and stuff... everyone is a left back and right back in your squad. Genuinly wish you the best, it'll work out eventually.

Makes him sound insane.

It seems we are in for a rough ride lol.

In all seriousness though i hope his assistants will have an input on things and make him realise certain mistakes otherwise i will not enjoy seeing sterling at wb and loftus cheek playing every game available.

We had a couple of games of enjoyment, now we are back to a boring team and it is a chore to watch us play.

I'd say that that is true in the PL, but since the Milan games, we have played well in the CL and I'd say that our games were very entertaining.

Barcelona and Juventus will be pushing for it heavily again now that they are out of Champs League.

I'd argue that we were boring in the 2 drawn games against Man United and Brentford as we set out quite defensively. Then Potter went for a more attacking approach against Salzburg which resulted in an entertaining win. Unfortunately when he tried the same (with a couple of different personnel) against Brighton we saw the results. I am hoping he will be able to find the right balance that allows us to create chances without looking totally open at the back. Personally I think if you swap a fit Reece, and Chilwell as wing backs for Sterling and Pulisic, we would look very different in that game.

Milan at home was excellent, Salzburg was very good. Milan away the ref ruined it. League games have all been meh.

For me it's not about the coach but this group of players. They are either average, don't give a f**k to play for Chelsea or have dropped in form/injured (those that are good and play for the club). It is a very unbalanced team with a very weak and uncreative midfield. No matter which coach comes, this team will not perform at the expected level.

Agree,  apart from Academy players,  the others have no connection to our club, our history or the fans.

as professionals you would hope that they want to give everything for us, but hey , they still become millionaires every few weeks regardless of their performances or results. I think Conor must have been fuming about their attitude playing for a club he has supported from childhood with his family when he said about " Brighton wanting it more than us".

Our EPL " elite" clubs were all for it, including us.

it was the fans of clubs who were to benefit from it , that were the most fierce opponents of it.

it hasn't gone away, Our owners will want it,  A guarantee of CL income , regardless of league position , takes the risk out of their 1investment.

Let's face it , it used to be only Champions who competed in it as a pure knockout competion.

now we have a team who havnt won our lleague since the early 1960s in the CL and a league format to start.

I actually like it it makes the league interesting otherwise it would be over by now with no top 4 to aim for.. Or the conference league and Europa.
