I sympathise with the right WB problem. You need to tinker, rotate or try something new there? Fine, but the left side? Nah, playing anyone other than Chilwell or Cucurella there right now is braindead. Tinkering for the sake of it, or worse, lacking the testes to keep a Pulisic or Sterling out of the team. These selections along with prioritising rehabbing Kepa and hoping we'll reverse about 4 years of Taibi-level form to get back a, what, half-decent keeper? Over rehabbing a bad year for Mendy, who if we could reverse his form we'd gain back one of the best keepers in the world- Doesn't look good for Potter.

All thar matters is if the owners are happy. Whether we are or not does not to them imo.

Very disappointing result but it’s felt like it was coming. We’ve had some off-ish performances recently. However, I think we can be pleased with Potter‘s first 10 games in charge. To finish top of the CL group beating Milan both games and Salzburg in an excellent achievement.

He’s got work to do but it could have been far worse. I think it’s just about getting through these next 3 games (not counting Zagreb) and then coming back stronger after the WC as we should have a full squad by then. Having James back is key.

We absolutely have. Salzburg at home we were poor and dropped 2 points. Milan away we will never know what would have happened if the ref does not make such an appalling call on Tomori.

Villa should have beaten us, Brentford shoild have beaten us, United should have beaten us. Their own incompetence stopped them.

Potters start looks a lot, lot worse had those sides taken advantage of his mistakes.

He can’t & wont sack him. Boehly seems hard headed and I can just see him assuring the fans to trust him.

And he shouldn't sack him. Potter has been in charge for barely 2 months, and it is a work in progress. While we've had some unconvincing wins in the league, he managed to turn things around in the Champions League. Today was the first time we lost under him. Lets not forget we were just as awful when we lost 3-0 at Leeds under the much lauded Tuchel earlier in the season.

It hasn't been plain sailing but I'm amazed that fans expected us to suddenly be this great team as soon as Tuchel left. We were awful in almost every game under Tuchel at the start of the season (exception being Spurs), and we were also pretty awful for most of the second half of last season. Things were hardly going to turn around overnight. I'm just happy we've managed to pick up some important wins at this time. Also it doesn't help that we are without our 2 best players (Kante/James), and probably the best of our summer signings (Fofana). Potter will benefit from the World Cup break as he will have some time to get key players back, and work with those who are not involved in the tournament. Hopefully we will see a more balanced side after that. For those calling for him to get sacked. Get a grip.

Do people forget that Tuchel lost 5-2 to West Brom in the season he joined? Yes, the same West Brom that were relegated in that season. It can happen.

The team just isn't very good.

We have a severe lack of attacking options: Aubameyang is a poor signing (he showed how much he lost at Arsenal); Sterling is known for being a terrible finisher (there is a compilation of youtube of his misses last season, and they are awful); Pulisic and Ziyech are incredibly average. It is so bad that people are wanting us to just continuously throw Broja in and hope he turns out good enough. It is because everyone knows we are screwed this season if he is not.

Our attack is worse than Brentford and Fulham, just to give it perspective.

The midfield is weak. We have lost Kante, and, unbelievably, we didn't conceive that this was likely to happen in the summer so we didn't sign anyone. On top of that, Kovacic is playing through injury and cannot play in every game. We are playing a second-rate midfield, at the moment.

We have no real replacement for James. This means we have no attacking presence whatsoever from the right wing-back position until he returns. Having that, on top of a poor attacking line, is not exactly the best thing to happen.

This team needs severe work in the next windows; Potter needs some time to bring players in that actually fit the system that he wants to play. This team is, most certainly, not it.

No don't want a German scouser. Would like a dapper Frenchman. A "strong like bull" Albanian. Or the first Asian manager in the EPL. Need to maintain our diversity quota.

Not sure what to make of Potter apart from I'm not sure he is all there, was Kepa injured? The starting line up was awful but the only sub you make at half time is the keeper makes me think you have lost the plot, granted if you make outfield subs it shows you got it wrong from the beginning which no manager likes to admit. I would have made at least 3 or 4 subs at half time.

I said this before but the football has gone downhill since Tuchel left, Potter has been very lucky with his results in the league but his luck run out today.

Ok this is not me calling for Potters head however this came to me to the same meoldy as our old TT song.

We've got super Graham Potter

But does he have a clue?

Boehly sacked one of the best managers in the world for a complete fraud whose only glow-up has been that he finally had an appointment at the hairdresser‘s

I don't think Tuchel gave his local barber much custom. A quick polish and comb the 3 or 4 strands over the top. Job done.

This is really sad but true. We somehow contrived to spend over 250m in summer on top of the 250m in 2020 and still look like we are a team in transition.

We clearly need a signing in January. We won't use Zakaria and our wide players are not doing well enough, it's actually easy to be linked with Trossard or any other winger since our own never seem to do anything noticeable ever. When Fofana, James and Kante come back we'll be stronger for sure but we still need something extra, what position would help us the most I don't know but we don't look like we have enough quality nor depth.

Man City won today cause they have KDB it's as simple as that and even if Klopp is doing worse than us right now you know that his attack will bail him out yet another season.

We currently don't have a player to bail us out, just look at every top team and compare their attack to ours, we're clearly a step below in comparison. Tuchel going for Lukaku for 100m set us back so much and the ripple effects are still there, the only hope that I see is Broja.

As much as I didn't think it was the right decision to sack Tuchel, and I'd rather he had been given time, his preseason and start to the league was atrocious and not getting better. Every new coach we get in will need time, so Boehly better be serious about sticking with Potter even if we don't make top four.

Hell no.

Of course today was a bad result but give Potter time. His selection was horrendous but hopefully today was the catalyst for him, no more USATim or Sterling at wing back.

If it were up to me, Tuchel would still be the manager but he’s gone now, don’t think there is any point dwelling.

I actually hope we don’t make any signings in January. A settled side is needed. The hope is we don’t get too far behind 4th place, come the World Cup and from there use a core first team with rotation as required. Rotating over half the team every match coupled with changes in formation by a coach who barely knows the strengths of his players is hurting us badly.
