Petrovic was an unknown too but looks pretty good so far...

if we really did get a +20 goals a season striker would it be worth it?

No doubt, maybe Poch can talk them in to keeping Conor but Broja, Maatsen, Chalobah possibly even Gilchrist will be sacrificed for FFP I reckon.

See if he delivers. I reckon he has privately told Mikel and Drogba he wants to join us and something is already in the works, and one of them let it slip.

I watched him against Cameroon and he played well. His energy was good too.

He’d score goals here I’m pretty sure. He did a lot of running and lead the press really well.

£111 million release clause. The supposed £50 million price for Broja makes a bit more sense now. 😀 We’re going to have a wee fire sale to pay for him. At the very least Broja, Gallagher and Trev are gone if Osimhen arrives.

I thought Osimhen looked pretty average every time I watched him at the African Cup of Nations.

And absolutely anonymous in the final against Ivory Coast ...

The Whoscored analysis has him down for quite a few weaknesses as well ...

If we are going to sign an expensive striker from Serie A I would prefer Lautaro Martinez.

Hardly his fault. Nigeria didn't turn up. IC played them off the park. One theory has it that Nigeria were buggered in the hot, humid conditions having played pretty much the same team throughout the comp.

Martinez isn’t a “9” though, he is an SS & we already have one in Nkunku.

Fair point.. i think whenever he has played as a CF he has always been paired with either Thuram or before Lukaku. His numbers look good and he seems clinical, my only concern would be how steep a drop would you expect in those numbers when you deduct the Serie A tax if he moves to the PL. Inter would also demand over €100m & we are talking £200k/w+ in wages. Probably PSG bound as a replacement for Mbappe.

I'd rather Toney to be honest and we'd save about £40m, just hope we can convince him to come.

Scored again today against Liverpool.

Steer well clear. Somebody better will be in the shop window soon enough. There always is.

I think Marcus Thuram could develop just as well, would be much cheaper and would have been cheaper, possibly free, if we had got him from the Bundesliga.

While Vlahovic is banging them in and Dybala is the best player in the league. Amazing what a season does to shift a perspective on a player.
