He's on a 7 year contract, another gamble,  hoping a player might "develop" out on loan to a team down the bottom of the league.

Not being funny but keeping him around the squad for the occasional cup game here and there would probably have the same effect as sending him to AEK in terms of transfer value.

I can see the appeal of AEK. Erik Lamela and Amrabat's older brother play there.

He's significantly better than Guiu. It would have made more sense to keep him, particularly with [one assumes] so many Conference League minutes available.

We probably give the SDs/owners too much credit in assuming there is a plan behind this (and in trying to figure it out). Random last-minute flailing from an inept management structure.

Surprised no English teams tried to loan him, few goals at a team destined for relegation was good enough for most newly promoted teams and teams in the championship. I do like how the owners and SDs tried to offload players to all over the world. But seriously, why would a footballer goes to a country completely unknown him, when he could just live in London and still get paid?

    It is strange.

    Thought he'd get a championship loan at the very least. Now set to waste half a season (AGAIN).

    You just know if we could only get DDF and Mudryk on the pitch together it would be a Bergkamp and Overmars partnership.
