The only problem with sacking him in May is that the last 3 months of the season will be absolutely toxic, especially at home, unless there's a miraculous turnaround.

If they believe in Potter as much as they have made out, then they have to ride that out as well. They did not become very wealthy men worrying about such things.

I've realised why your support for Potter has finally started to waver.

with Jorginho having left and Cucurella not being in the squad today you've ran out of scapegoats and have finally been forced to confront the unfortunate reality that our manager just isn't very good at winning football matches or coaching his teams towards the opposition goal.

It will get better when Pulisic comes back. I know you rate him highly.

I wonder what the financial implications of sacking Potter are. Do we have to pay him his whole salary? Or is there an agreed severance clause in his contract. If it's the former then that's probably why we won't see him sacked any time soon, he signed a 5 year deal for £10m-£12m a season.

Not to mentioned the 5 year deals for all his staff too.

I believe so, sacking Potter and his staff will cost around ~80m.

Absolutely insane to give that much to such an average manager, he would have came here on 3m a year. 15m a year for Graham freakin Potter. It’s an international war crime.

A higher percentage than that I think. Probably only @TimesUpPotterand @OriginalSvoting for him to stay.

Even myself, @axman2526and @bisright1 are on the fence now.

In the name of full transparency. I want him out more than i wanted Sarri out and I thought Sarri was a mercenary d**khead.

I don't respect hidden agendas so might as well get it out there that since yesterday I have officially fully turned on Potter. I've been highly critical for a long time as there was a whole lot to be critical about but left some room in case he turned things around. From now on I don't even care if he somehow got decent results from here until the end of the season, I want him gone.

That post-match interview yesterday was straight up disrespectful. To fans and our own players and thats when I fully had it.

Write off 60M is easy, just pretend we signed another Lukaku and it didn't work out. After spending 600M on players and with more to come, I doubt money is the key factor, it's the admission of a mistake that bothers the boss.

Given they overspent to buy the club in the first place, and overspent on just about every signing to date, you'd think they'd be quite blasé at the thought of another mere £60m down the drain.

Perhaps another poll "How many times would have you sacked Potter so far if you were Boehly ?" might make us all feel a bit better ?

Options to choose from could be zero, 1-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10+, and perhaps a final option of "I'd never have hired him in the first place" 🙂

Potential XI under Pochettino...

                                                       Lloris (KEPA)
Walker (JAMES) - Alderweireld (SILVA) - Vertonghen (BADIASHILE) - Rose (CHILWELL)
                                                       Dier (ENZO)
                                  Eriksen (MOUNT) - Dembele (KOVACIC)
                                                    Alli (HAVERTZ)
                                 Kane (AUBAMEYANG) - Son (FELIX)

POTTER OUT

How long do we wait to sack Potter ? this season is finished as we will not qualify for Europe and will not win champions league

Its inevitable that he will get sacked   but i can only thing The board are going to look really stupid  having given him such a big contract

But the press are waiting to rip you apart you spent money with no understanding  of what you were doing or buying   Cucurella , KK , Aubameyang lmfho and gave a massive contract to an unproven manager

6 months in and we have the worst Chelsea team ever

when Silva was asked how Potter compared to his other managers  his answer was a diplomatic its to early to say

Players are not saying anything positive about training  , team talk , potters  eye for detail , his knowledge of other  teams , players  etc

there is a reason English managers dont do well  there all taught the same FA coaching system  and it does not breed success only run of the mill

Please  sack him sooner rather than later

The owners failed to realize that playing CL football year after year gave this club the status it has.

Gambling on a manager that has never finished top 6 in any major league is going to cost them a lot more than 60m for sacking him.

The sooner he goes the better.

Many people on here wanted to give Frank the rest of the season because the season was already over and there was nothing to lose, and the same people are saying it all over again, believe it or not, they've learned nothing.

I don't think we can win a Champions League with such a fresh squad, but I do know we never would under Potter, and with the quality we have we could certainly be a dark horse, who else does it better than Chelsea FC when it comes to managerial bounces and winning a cup from them? Both of our CL wins came from exactly that.

The more we waste time on a manager who's evidently not good enough and never will be we're going to waste an opportunity to get something out of this season.

Well said, and I still think Top 4 is attainable for someone who comes in with the right attitude and ambition to impart some much needed confidence into a talented squad ... the top 3 are away and clear, but 4th is there for the taking for any team in the top half that can put a strong run together.

With Newcastle blundering it definitely isn't impossible, though Liverpool are resurging now. We're in a worse position now than when Lampard was sacked though (29 points from 19 compared to 31 points from 23 now), and even then Tuchel was only barely able to get us over the line.

And even if we do go out against Dortmund or don't finish top 4, a new manager could at least put this team on the right track to progress under somebody else next season. This team is far too talented to average 4 goals every 15 games.

The likes of Mudryk could potentially finish this season with no goals or assists, that's how sh*te we are at the moment. This is just dire football and I dare say our league position flatters us for the football we are playing.

Potter has shown no sign of tactical insight or adaptability, he's going to keep playing the same way until the season ends if we give him the chance, and we are destined to finish in the bottom half of the table with a negative goal difference. Why is that okay exactly? People saying we've got nothing to lose so f**k it need to give their heads a wobble, the financial investment of this team can simply not afford such a thing and it can massively hinder our performances for next season.

We're further back in terms of points too ... I think it was only 5 to make up last time round, and now it is 10.

For sure, an exceptional run would be required, but why not at least try !

Yes its a transfer/wages financial expense.

20mill due now if sacked, or spread over 5 years, ditto 60mill in wages. Huge hit.

Worth taking in the long run I believe buddy

Don't believe they would have factored it in to FFP considerations though, so the league could hammer us.
