I do agree with him though, if true, that he deserves a starting role somewhere. Just not here as i just don't think he would be able to oust Lucy Bronze from that starting position, and with Ellie Carpenter here he's third choice at best.

I think he wants an improved contract. He is at the 3rd year mark where that kicks in, but like Madueke, I don’t think they are convinced he deserves one. Liverpool were interested last summer when Trent left, but opted for Frimpong. Even if the club decides to sell, the price will be a sticky point. They will want £50m+, but I am not sure there is a market at that price.

The style of play hasn’t helped I don’t think, it looks slow and there is no energy. It’s been hard to support at the stadium sometimes but the numbers don’t lie either.

If you play a team off the park and have them chasing shadows yes you can make them run more while still winning comfortably but that hasn’t been the case with us.

Hope Alonso gives whoever remains a rocket up the arse. Worked hard…f**k me.

I like Gusto but he doesn't help himself at times. Like v Man City I actually thought he was fine but then he did some stupid pass to no one and they hit us on the counter.

It’s interesting because I too know a couple of City fans and they have blind faith that Maresca is going to be a huge success.

I tried to remind them of what we were told by Leicester fans when he left them and of course what we witnessed but no they simply believe that with better players they will carry on regardless.

I hate saying this but SAF was a genius in terms of longevity and the way he rebuild and to a degree that’s where I see Pep but to quote Python “ Maresca isn’t a Messiah he is…..” you get my drift.

If City are a success, it will be because of their staff behind the scenes and their ability to sign players that are world class, not because of TBO©'s managerial ability.
