At what point do we have to stop and say we are adding too many pathway blocks? A younger GK blocks Slonina. Another young CM blocks Casadei, and another young ST blocks Fofana/Broja. This is what irks me as it seems there is no plan, bar buying and selling for a profit.

If Pochettino is happy to make Slonina his number 1, and swap between Broja and Fofana, then fair enough. Casadei is a number 8 though and will be in competition with Kante and Santos, rather than a CDM. Only natural CDM we have is Trev, so unless Pochettino decides to play him there we will need to buy someone.
May 4, 20233 yr We are already covered for a back 4 or 5 We are covered for wingers Goalkeeper, 2 midfielders and number 9 is all the new manager should be looking to sign.

May 5, 20233 yr Reasons for optimism: it literally can't get worse anymore. 100% loss rate for Lampard. I think he has done a fantastic job of lowering expectations further in view of next season. He has destroyed every 'if' and 'but' with our performances, taking us to the lowest of lows. There is literally only up from this point onwards.

Are you willing to go through the pain of developing them? Because if you want to improve them quickly, you can't hide them, you need to thrown them into fire and give them big responsibility. Fans will think you are stupid because you will lose a lot of game. It will be even worse these days with social media.

May 15, 20233 yr Lots of reasons to be optimistic, we have such a quality team with a lot of youngsters at that. With a good manager (hopefully Pochettino gets us on the right track) and a more fast-paced counter-attacking style I think we can really get the best out of this team. I'll be disappointed if we don't sign a good DM though, that should be the priority in the summer. We can't go into next season with just Kante who can barely play 1/4 of the season. Then obviously a striker would be a good idea. I think we're good to go.

How anyone can think not getting a proven, consistent, top class, natural centre-forward is the absolute 100% top priority is completely beyond me. How could we play a counter-attacking style if we have no one capable of holding the ball up? After that, bagging a top keeper and integrating Colwill are more pressing priorities than a DM for me.

I just think we'll be in big trouble if we don't fill that gap Just. Unfortunately, Kante just can't be relied upon anymore, his injury record is really bad. Without Kante next to Enzo I think we'll get run ragged. I don't want to see a full season of Enzo-Kovacic. Both are a priority but if I had to pick I would pick a DM first, I think the goals will come eventually once the team starts to gel and we get a proper system in place.
May 15, 20233 yr Yeah I'm leaning towards fixing the midfield before the ST as well. Need an actual environment and structure in place for the ST to actually perform in.
