Pochettino bottled Ligue 1 to Lille and did much worse than Tuchel there and he had Messi in his team.

Kompany is a very risky signing. He's doing well at Burnely but Scott Parker was also a good championship coach. Not sure how well any of his football will translate at PL.

The fact the top coaches are rejecting us is ridiculous and shows how bad the club is being run now

I wouldn't put Parker and Kompany in the same bracket. Kompany managed to get Burnley promoted by a landslide whilst completely changing the style of play after years of hoof-ball, they didn't even spend that much.

Kompany's Burnley use pretty much the same system that Arsenal/City use, to get a championship team playing that style successfully is pretty much unheard of. I'm not sure he's ready for Chelsea yet but he definitely will make it to the top of the game at some point.

This is fast becoming an expensive Bachelor show. You got 3-4 suitors lined up, taking the sweet time evaluate the pros and cons ( had all the time in the world from August last year to Potter's departure) , and having a flirt with each with more to come through. Now before the rose ceremony, one walked out, one said it's not you about me, the other one is checking out all options, and sooner or later the last one we standing will  come out bat for the other team.

Spot on. It’s embarrassing this whole interview process and the fact that so many of these managers have different styles and ways of working shows we don’t know what we want.

The football people in charge should know what they want. They signed these players in January. It’s crazy to me we even spent the time to interview Kompany after Potter. If you are Nagelsmann and you just read the news and see all these names linked and you could pretty much walk into most top jobs. Why would you come here with this circus of a process?

They really need to tighten up the way they the work in terms of privacy and stop leaking things to the press.

Should have never hired Potter in the first place, guarantee had we gone for Pochettino we would be at least in the top 6-8 maybe top 4. We would have seen some progression in the way we play along with individual development.

Those that are hating on Pochettino are either highly bias because of his Spurs time or are taking their disain for the board out on him.

I promise we could do a lot worse than Pochettino. Huge upgrade on Potter, with so much more experience in the elite level of football.

Created a recognisable and entertaining style at Southampton and led them to 8th place. Fun fact aside from his first season 14/15 (a great season for us) in which he took Spurs to 5th (one place higher than their previous season 6th) every other single season he was at Spurs they finished in the top 4.

So 4/5 seasons he had them in the Champions League and considering the only year he didn't was his first year I think that's quite impressive. Even more impressively the only time they were 4th was his final season he managed two 3rd place finishes and one 2nd place finish.

He took Spurs to their highest point total in the EPL 86 points 16/17 season (another great season for us). He was also the coach that ended our 13 winning streak that season not even by a draw but by defeating us and tactically it was an impressive win. He identified a weakness and exploited it. Took Spurs to their first and only UCL final beating Pep's Man City and probably the most entertaining side in the competition ETH's Ajax in the process.

Helped develop Son, Kane, Dele Ali and Eriksen all into top players during his tenure. Took them to a league cup final like Mourinho (before he was sacked the week of) and coincidentally lost to Mourinho's blues (as I'm sure you remember  14/15 was a good season for us).

Knocked out Bayern in the UCL in his first half season as PSG coach not spoken about enough since Bayern were the current holders at the time. Lost to Pep in the semi finals which is no shame. The next season they lost to a Madrid side that just wouldn't die. I would argue the capitulation can't be all his fault. His keeper and defenders threw that go back and watch it no coach has control over that.

The dude won 3 trophies in 1 and a half seasons in charge, which is an impressive rate since thats what Tuchel did for us,  sure the UCL is much more valuable than Ligue 1, but you get the idea.

By all means dislike the guy, dislike the board but don't make out he's not a good coach or he's not good enough for us. Where we're at right now, we're crying out for a top coach and if you can't see Pochettino is a top coach you're either heavily bias or have questionable understanding of elite tactics and coaching.

On a final note if you consider the budget he worked with at Spurs especially compared to his rivals and the fact he achieved relative success i.e consistent top 4. This all screams top quality coach.

Agree with all this and recognise Pochettino is a top coach and will be open to have him here unlike 98% of Chelsea fans.

but also like to understand exactly what happened at PSG? With the best talents and Messi I’d say he underachieved.

anyway, he’s going to withdraw from consideration for the role. Nothing exciting.

We could do much worse than Pochettino, despite his history and inability to win trophies, will be an upgrade on Potter. The issue is he's been available all the time, could have approached him post Tuchel, or at worse post Potter. There must be doubts from either Boehly ( or his football people), now he's the leading candidate and could pick between at least us and Spurs, would no be surprised at all if he put up some ridiculous demand, or walk away in the last minute.

Pochettino just needs to keep his calm to land this job now. Both the main contenders have been impatient and wanted it immediately and ruled out of it.

But my question is like Enrique, won't Pochettino ask for a different profile of players as 3 at the back is not his style either ?

I don't think back 3/back 4 is the problem.

De Zerbi had bang average players at Sassuolo play beautiful football and score for fun. Then Shakhtar in Ukraine. Now Brighton play the sort of football that is totally out of their league and they punch way above their true level. Brighton have clear patterns of play that show that there is someone in charge of their tactics that truly knows what he is doing. De Zerbi is not afraid to take risks and has set all the teams he's managed so far to play on the front foot, dominate the possession and score for fun.

Why is he not even considered?! Can't understand really.

He will soon land a top job and to be honest I would not be surprised If Guardiola would recomend him to the City board when he decides to leave.

Nagelsmann rejecting us actually makes me really worried. He seemed like the perfect candidate. Bayern seemed to do better under him than under Tuchel.

Plus he's got some massive results outclassed Barca, inter and PSG

Pochettino record against big 6 was horrendous in the PL and Messi played his worse ever football under him
