It’s not like we’ve got Will Still or Xabi Alonso here learning with the players, like an Arteta situation. There should be a certain expectation for the here and now, and if that isn’t the case.. you want basic discipline being coached into the players, proper game management, ideas and system in full swing despite results. It’s actually genuine insanity how those pre-season games somehow translated into this. ‘Chaos-ball’ in the good and the bad. Sacking him could have some long term consequences. Unless there is a genuine, genuine upgrade on him he should stick around. It is funny though when people gave Potter the no pre-season excuse.
December 6, 20232 yr Does anyone even bother with his after-game interviews? It actually makes me miss "It was a Spirited Performance by the Boys" from last season!
December 6, 20232 yr Who do people think we would get in to do a better job? At the end of the day there has to be patience with the coach. You can't expect any consistency if there's no consistency with coaches. He's been here less than 5 months and has hardly been handed a ready made team. The circumstances for the past year has been tough.

He would get top 8 because he wouldn't just give in and let Enzo play exactly how he himself wants and he wouldn't just put in there Caicedo playing some default reactionary football. We have a 999m squad value. But they need to be coached.
December 6, 20232 yr Disappointing performance but what do the club expect? They bought too much potential and kids. It’s an under 23s team vs men’s teams. Poch has done a good job so far and he’s on the right track but he has been hampered by injures. Look at our bench tonight - absolutely terrible.

He absolutely could, as could Emery, Ange, De Zerbi, Klopp and Arteta We have no European football to deal with, we should at least be capable of top 6 Edited December 6, 20232 yr by Drogba1

But as with Potter there would be far more patience if there were signs of a team & players developing. Pochettino's had a pre-season, a big transfer window, and six months to work and there are zero signs of progress. Unorganized, players look clueless, defence & midfield is getting increasingly worse. We should worry about that and Pochettino should worry about it if he intends to keep his job.
December 6, 20232 yr We've got no choice but to hope it comes together the way it did for him at Spurs at this point. I don't particularly agree with the route we've gone down but we've made our bed and got to lie in it.

To trust a process there needs to be a process to trust I don't see one at the moment, we don't look like we're playing an organised tactical system.
December 6, 20232 yr It’s worrying me that our injuries still don’t seem to be clearing up. Out of our bench we had James, Broja and Maatsen to bring on. Absurd.

It's also been 5 months Sindre, goodness me we gave AVB more time than that. Newcastle and United games aside I think we have put in many good performances. I'm definitely not happy with the results or our defensive transitioning. I just think sacking Pochettino right now will have far worse consequences than people can imagine. If you ask me I don't think we should ever have sacked TT in the first place, but f**k it, we're here now, we need to muster through and give him time. Nothing is going to be salvaged this season anyway, what's the point in chopping and changing again. We'll be right back where we were next season, I would rather see the season out and give the manager time for once.

Thing is with Potter, we stuck by him through that winter rut only to finally pull the trigger when there was signs of it finally coming together (3 wins in 5 and the one loss being in a game we created a sh*t load of chances, not to mention the Liverpool game likely on his notes). I wouldn't have gone down this route myself but now we've committed to it we've got to by hook or by crook hope it comes together.

The circumstances for the past year has been tough. It’s not going to happen but if Tuchel became available again I’d fire pochettino immediately. His premier league record wasn’t the best but it’s certainly better than the sh*t we are seeing now. I think Mudryk could be pretty effective playing as a wing back.

I said at the start of the season if Poch finished 7th with this squad you'd have to consider him in contention for manager of the season, not that he'd get it because of what the owners wasted on it. A manager can only get the best out of his players, you can't look at this squad and think it's a reasonable expectation for any manager to challenge for a European place.

December 6, 20232 yr lol wow fans actually want the manager sacked now or the end of the season wow. There is a reason arsenal are top because sensibly they didn’t listen to the fans who “thought” they knew better and they probably win the league this season. We are in our banter club period they all go through it just deal with it.

Most managers in the league would resign before the season started if you told them you wanted a European place with Broja, Madueke, Mudryk, Jackson and Palmer up front. Granted Palmer is doing very well but there's about 25 career goals between them you're asking the manager to create goals from players that have never at any point shown a goal scoring touch. It's an impossible job, we're playing In the PL not the U19 world cup. Youth football is separate for a reason there's a huge gulf between hyped kid and consistent PL performer. There is no way we should still be this disjointed in December, injuries or no injuries this is nowhere near good enough. I watched Eddie Howe go into Newcastle and turn what isn't exactly super star names into a really well coached team. Well organised, full of pace, exciting football, aggressive, the players give their all. Pochettino has done none of that with us, he's not actually changed anything at all. We should be questioning why he doesn't seem to have his own identity. I am seeing nothing that stands out from the worst parts of Sarri, Tuchel, Lampard or Potter's Chelsea teams. It's just the same sh*te with worse players.
December 6, 20232 yr Poch is to blame for the team's performances but a factor of it is definitely on quality of personnel. Could we be doing better than what we are seeing? Definitely. Are we really as good as we initially thought? Probably not. What's evident is that the serpents neck needs to be cut off, IE Clearlake ending this absurd fascination of inflating the squad with inexperience. Edited December 6, 20232 yr by Sconnie Blue
December 6, 20232 yr Poch has had to play with Jackson as the main striker. We’re in December. No Nkunku, Chilwell, Lavia, James, Fofana.. Give the guy a break.

We had a system at least. What do we have now part from some overpaid stars that don't worry about a single thing every week? It's a 999m squad value, top 8 is doable if things are done properly.

There’s just too much of the same thing - youth.
