As well as annoying and angering the fan base, Chelsea also managed to annoy and anger one new player who has never even kicked a ball for them yet by going back on their word to him, or lying if you want to look at it that way – which it is essentially.

Paez NOT going to CWC

According to Ben Jacobs writing on his X account, Paez is not in Chelsea’s Club World Cup squad even though he was told he would be.

Jacobs says:

“Situation with Kendry Paez has changed. Player was expecting to go to the Club World Cup last week and then have his future decided. Chelsea have determined he is not part of their squad, with a Strasbourg loan anticipated. Paez understood to be disappointed as summer plans altered.”

    Unfortunately the people who run our club lack integrity and class. Your word is ur bond. Everything can be taken away from you except that….if of course you had it to start with.

    No issue with him spending a season at Strasbourg, the issue is not taking him to the CWC to showcase his talents to the club that bought him. How to perfectly demotivate a youngster before he even gets to work.

    Chelsea -> Strasbourg (25/26)

    Where would the issue with the three club rule come into play by taking him to the CWC? Indipendiente and Strasbourg loans are two separate seasons.

    The Ecuadorean season runs from February to December so it’s not 24/25 season at Independiente it’s just the 2025 season.

    So it could be Independiete 2025, Chelsea 25/26, and Strasbourg 25/26.

    He’s not in Ecuador anymore. He joined Chelsea before the next season started in Europe.

    Ben Jacobs now reporting he's going to travel to America (squad has already left) and stay with the squad during the CWC, although he's not registered to play but can train.

    Looks like someone's had a word about the situation but what an embarrassment this debacle was.

    Not official but all but confirmed he's off to Strasbourg.

    His talent is undeniable but i think he had some off field issues towards the end of his time at Independiente and with the NT.
