Kendry Paez

Omari Hutchinson is 4 years older than Kendry.

But not Santos,  Moreira, Washington etc. Same for Ronnie Stutter, Tyrique George and a number of other kids who have progressed through a he'll of alot more testing environment than most of these "generational" talents have playing in.

Eh? There were 3 seconds between the start of the clip and the ball being in the back of the net...

Not a single defensive player appears to be marking anyone in that clip.

No one is saying any of those players are generational talents though?

Maybe Santos was, but the guy has a cap for Brazil.

I am being facetious about the generational talent comments, although there was plenty of this type of twitter hype going on at the time. Not just the four we signed but there were another two or three of these kids that fell through.

I am also not passing judgement on Paez. He looks really good and it would be brilliant if we have a Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Neymar level that will blossom here. My point was more that the record is not looking too good at the moment and yet kids within our own academy look every bit as good and the level is probably tougher but we dismiss it.

Hey I would love Santos, Gabriel and Washington to form a trio of Brazilian stars tearing up the PL. Just a bit concerned about us hyping up the shiny new toys at the expense of lads that are working really hard in our existing system.

I dont know who us is, the club? Or the fans?

Omari Hutchinson, who was a "Boehly" signing, not academy, has been given the same opportunity as Angelo, both on loan at decent outfits. Both played in pre season.

Our actual academy players, like Gilchrist, get their chances as well in the team and on loan to impress.

In my view, we are signing these Brazilians generally to then sell in 2-3 years time for profit. Same as why we run the academy. If one turns into a world beating first team played, it's a bonus.

My concern is we are paying over the odds for players who aren't that likely to be financially profitable.

I think Kendry, Santos and Angelo are the exceptions though. All 3 have potential to be very valuable.

I’m weirdly excited by Richards. The rest I mostly agree with, Paez is up in the air while Hutchinson will never get a chance under Poch unless he goes through an immense growth spurt during the summer

Fans keep forgetting Hutchinson came through the ranks at Arsenal and was rated higher than Saka & Martinelli. We were the ones that muddled up his development by buying him and sticking him in the reserves. He is playing regularly now at Ipswich who are on course for an automatic promotion to the PL, and has been brilliant (scored 2 goals & 1 assist yesterday). He already has suitors in the PL & on the continent, just hope we aren’t stupid enough him to sell him in the summer. I would leave him on loan at Ipswich if the get promoted, a whole season playing regular PL football is the next step IMO.

Most of those will be gone in the next 1-2 years. Can only see Palmer still being here. Unless someone bigger turns his head of course.

Paez is just 16, & at 15 scored 5 league goals. You would struggle to find any kid with 5 International caps at 16, and Ecuador is not a shabby footballing nation.

Hell of a talent and only 16yrs. This was last night in the Copa Libertadores. Whoever signed him deserves a raise; a snip at €20m when you consider Madrid paid €70m for Endrick who is 10mths older. We need to get our sh*t together by the time he comes next summer.

Endrick nor Roque will go on loan when they are at Real and Barca.

Kendry shouldn't either.

Playing against Endrick’s Palmeiras in the South American CL and he has been the better of the two.  Playing in the No 10 role; he has scored and assisted another, making 3 key passes. Endrick has also scored for Palmeiras.

Paez is a reason we need to be careful about our business in this window. He is the real deal and we shouldn’t be buying a player to block his progress.

If Paez is as good as people think he is no one is blocking his progress.

First 30secs shows his goal and assist.
My fear is we can be a bit short sighted in our approach, the kid is the real deal. The way he carries the ball from deep and his vision is a joy to behold.

This f**king lad is immense.,

I really do believe that, if they wanted to, Clearlake could sell him this summer for 3 times what they paid. With the regular highlights he dishes out and praise coming his way there would be no end of takers.

Don't give them ideas
