No one in our academy is  nicknamed “Messinho” though.   I’m sold as long as they clarify who the ‘inho’ part is referring to.

In Portuguese, "inho" is a suffix for "small" as in "Little Messi", "Messi Lite" etc, usually attached to either short people or those "larger than life" fellas just like Ronaldinho from Barcelona/PSG.

So "Ronaldinho" would just regularly be called "Ronaldo".

Chelsea are in talks to sign 17-year-old winger Estevao Willian from Palmeiras.

 

Chelsea are confident of completing the transfer, which would see Estevao move to the club after turning 18 in April 2025.

 

Palmeiras are prepared to accept an initial fixed amount of around €30million plus a variable figure of performance based add-ons. His Palmeiras contract runs until 2026.

Tbf its a signing that's growing on me. Everything suggests he's in the same talent pool as Endrick and the notion of he and Paez joining us summer of 2025 is very exciting.

Yes I agree. I don't mind us paying decent money for teenagers so long as they're the cream of the crop. If he's the same standard as Paez and Endrick then he could be a fantastic signing.

We are rebuilding and you would think Chelsea is not really that attractive as a club at the moment.

Still we could have yet another wonderkid wrapped up in a few weeks. 

I think people are yet to understand what the likes of Endrick, Estevao, Kendry Paez, Yamal or Echeverri mean in the football world. 

They are projected to have the same path as 16-17 year olds Neymar or Mbappe.

To have two of the brightest and youngest ballers signed up (Kendry and Estevao) plus Cole Palmer is truly mental.

As a comparison, Vinicius jr. and Rodrygo were highly rated in Brasil before their move to Madrid, but Endrick and Estevao are in a completely different category. First time since Neymar that other players are regarded to have a similar path to him.

Better question is what happens to Noni and Palmer? Paez and this Willian will be after the central and right attacking rolls.

It gives us options. Palmer, Paez, and Nkunku can play multiple roles.

   CAM:     Palmer/Paez/Nkunku 

      LF:     Nkunku/Mudryk/Jackson

We'll need them all what with all the injuries and Conference League matches. 😂 

If we sign estevao I can see him getting loaned out to strasbourg (or a competitive team in general)  and then slowly getting integrated team.

Maybe he’s too good to be loaned out? If he’s truly a wonder kid then he shouldn’t find it too difficult to break into first team squad.
