Enzo Maresca - Chelsea "Head Coach" *Official NOW SACKED*

Fernandez. It was also Enzo right at the end when we almost imploded but got the ball out wide that was sleepwalking over to it and then realised that it wasn't going out and just got there ahead of the WHU player to push it down the line.

Thought Enzo had one of his better games last night but brain farts like that are inexcusable.

If we get rid, we'll just sign another no-one. There are not many top managers available and they wouldn't be interested in ths circus. We raided the Championship this time. League One maybe next time? Or maybe a 30-year old coach from the French 3rd division, with 1 coaching badge and a 65% win rate from 10 games? Potential, right?

Him and Caicedo were our few bright sparks. Worrying isn't it

I think it was a stupid appointment to start with, but pointless sacking him at the moment.

Just give him some time to turn it around.

People comparing his reign with Pochettino, that was never supposed to be a thing, we were supposed to be doing better this season. We've laid the foundations, we've had time to strengthen the weaker areas, and still absolute pish.

It's not good.

If there is a better manager available in the summer I would go for it all day long. Between Maresca ball nad poch ball, I want poch ball. I want Chaos ball, I want Palmer marauding down the flanks I want excitement. Maresca has until the summer to get some entertaining wins against our direct rivals.

How do you define 'direct' rivals? If it's big six then Maresca has already done the same to Spurs (and in an entertaining way) while United was down to Ten Hags stupidy more than it was Poch (who conspired to turn what should have been the easiest win of the season into a massive battle in the first place).

Or is it top four rivals? If that's the case Newcastle and Villa were both beaten at The Brigde.

Am I mental for backing an Ancelotti comeback?

Ancelotti was one of the best that we had, his sacking still pisses me off. Regardless whether he would even consider a return: would he be the right man in the right place? In the mess that is our football club (and I use the word football loosely, when it's actually after school daycare)?

I think he'd be perfect. This team would massively benefit from an experienced winner in charge, so far we've given them 2 inexperienced at the top level managers with Potter and Maresca then a man who's barely won a raffle with Poch

We should never have got rid of Poch. Yes it was slow to get going but there was a lot of work to do. Bar the first 10 games, we were in 4th.

Swapped an experienced manager for an inexperienced one.

Poch wouldn’t have won us the league but he would have got us competitive again. It’s a shame that Winstewart annoyed him and he wanted out by the end.

Actually had us in 4th for the last 32 games.

Pretty impressive considering what he inherited from 22/23, plus the high level of absence throughout the season due to injuries etc.

That "logic" works both ways.

Take out May and we're 9th.

If you want to disclaimer the bad form then it's only fair to point out that 16 of those points were won after our already slim hopes of actual top 4 were over.

I'll never forgive 'Bottler' Poch.. Threw a trophy against Victimpool... unforgivable.

That is true. Awful moment. That probably did it for the SD’s and probably Poch as well.

I'd like to think that we wouldn't have kept him had we won that game.

We've seen what's happened with the team that made an emotion driven u turn based on winning a cup final.

That logic definitely doesn't work both ways. Progression happens the longer you are there. Why would you judge someone on their first few weeks and not where they are at the end? Sack someone after they improve? Read what you said again and tell me if you still think it makes sense.

In terms of Champions league next season...our young squad would make a big leap to CL. Not sure if that is aligned with where we are. Our lads would concentrate on the CL and lose the following game. That is very hard to more experienced sides. Or maybe even the game before the CL. I feel we should be a more solid side.

If we don't buy experienced players in the summer I would go on this journey to develop and nurture our young core players such as 8, 20, 25, 6, 11 in a more natural progression.

I think us fans also need to learn this. We should enjoy seeing young talent grow and maybe in a couple of seasons compete... just look at MU. They just can't let go of SAF and that era. It is sad.

You can absolutely sack someone if the "improvement" is still nowhere near good enough. Avram Grant was on a 5 month unbeaten league run when we fired him, do you think that was a bad call? And yes, if you want to disclaimer his poor start by what he inherited then it's very much fair game to point out he was barely doing better than Potter in the league until we hit a run of wins once our top 4 hopes were gone.

Speaking of which, Potter's spell was improving at the end aswell (3 wins out of 5 and unlike Poch one of those was a game that still had a trophy in play) yet no one seems to be arguing we should have kept him.

I didn't say you can't sack someone if the improvement isn't good enough, i said absolutely no one in business would look at the first 10 games of the season and use that as a barometer instead of looking at where the team were in the latest point of time and ignore that end of the tenure.

You're making things up to argue with yourself about.

United basically made a decision based on how their season ended and look what happened to them.

And even in the period we "improved" we still had horror shows like Anfield, The Emirates, Brentford, Wolves, the final, Sheffield United.

They made a decision based on one cup final, we're talking about the last 32 league games of a 38 games season. Amorim is doing well anyway, big upgrade.
