June 26, 20242 yr The old switcheroo part 2? £120m for Isak, £60m for Gallagher and all is good in Ozark UK land.
June 26, 20242 yr This is potentially a signing that would have bridged the gap with the top 2, but our owners are an unserious bunch so I can’t see it. Was thinking earlier this morning that him and Lautaro Martinez are the 2 obtainable forwards that make any team competitive. Newcastle need to sell one of him or Guimaraes for big money to comply with FFP or take a points deduction. Way too easy for our owners so zero chance.
June 26, 20242 yr Very good player, not a chance they’d sell him to us unless we paid silly money which we probably can’t do.

This is part of the big media dis-information plan from the club i reckon. Keep subtly getting people like Romano and Sami Mokbel linking us to players that we have no wherewithal of getting makes us look dynamic and big players in the eyes of the press and us fans. Bit like this breaking the 25 and under rules bollox that came out. Then Tosin is cited in defence of this. Yeah , a freebie.
June 26, 20242 yr It was obvious Newcastle would want serious money for him. They bought him for £60m and his stock has risen. Unless Todd was thinking of the mother of all player swaps to make up most of the money lol.

This for me is part of a campaign being played by our media team under the auspices of this Roddy guy. Think it is all a plan to make it look like we are serious and we don't have a price and salary cap. I don't think any of it is real unless we can either do an over inflated swap deal or the players are so cheap and under 25 that we can get them in.
June 26, 20242 yr Don't see us getting a 100M player this window, regardless of the quality of the individual. So far we have invested (heavily) on even younger players, it appears to be the trend until proven otherwise

June 27, 20242 yr Finally a proper name around Chelsea... Sadly it's just rumours and it won't happen.

By all accounts we did make an enquiry and it was rebuffed immediately and it was deemed too expensive. A bit like you I feel it was put out there to deflect or to answer the salary cap rumours. He’s a quality player but it was very unlikely to ever materialise. Pointless exercise IMO and the kind of things Spurs normally do, not us.
June 27, 20242 yr Don’t Newcastle need to sell Isak or Guimaraes to avoid breaking PSR rules and getting points deduction? If so, why stop any potential team from buying Isak?

Spurs offered £40m + Richarlison which is laughable, and Arsenal are admirers also. City & Arsenal are also interested in Guimaraes but don’t want to pay £100m. It’s a case of who blinks first.

Venturing into some tin foil hat territory there mate...

June 29, 20242 yr I still do believe we will get him, but can believe we are trying to. Newcastle would rather anyone else be sold for PSR relief but are said to be getting desperate Today's claims are that we would be willing to spend the 100mill plus to help Newcastle out, and in return Newcastle would by one of Gallagher, Jackson, Chalobah and/or Broja after July 1 when PSR resets.

I'd rather we went and got Joshua Zirkzee and kept 60m in our pockets
June 30, 20242 yr 3 hours ago, WhiteWall said: I'd rather we went and got Joshua Zirkzee and kept 60m in our pockets Hell No! His agent Kia Joraabchian wants a €15m commission on top of his release clause. He is a West Ham level forward, and they are not crazy enough to buy another forward from Serie A after Scamacca turned out to be a bust.
June 30, 20242 yr Given Newcastle have sold a player to Brighton for 30 million, a player they bought last June and that hasn’t made a single appearance for them, is this completely off now? All this selling of players who almost never kicked a ball is utterly bizarre. I just wonder what these players think because they appear to be traded for financial reasons alone and have no future as footballers. But maybe most of these players were already resigned to that.
