Aleksander Isak

Isak will never get 20 goals a season cause he’ll never play 20 games a season.  Think he’s a cracking player but the constant injuries are a no go for me.  The frustration of watching James constantly breaking down is bad enough.

Seems I wrote him off too soon, he was back to his best against Liverpool. I still don't know if I want us to sign him though, too injury prone.

I also think that he is too similar in style to Jackson. If we go with another striker i would like it to be a contrast to Jackson.

Kinda like Nkunku?

Yes, and i have been advocating this for some time. Yesterday was a concern for me though. Maresca wants all of his players to press especially high. Not like loonies, charging all over the place but certainly pressing and driving the opposition defenders into uncomfortable passes. It was clear to me yesterday that this is just not Nkunku's game. Chris will press but it is only really a token gesture. I think that this might be an issue for Maresca

I don't think Nkunku has worked out what Maresca really wants here. Nkunku played for years in RB Leipzig's suicidally-high pressing scheme, and that is something Maresca specifically has tried to stamp out across the team.

Jackson has been more confident of late, since he has been able to pick and capitalise on defensive mistakes with recent goals, but I don't think either forward really understands the middle-ground Maresca is seeking yet.

Only the biggest and the worst gipsy curse is going to prevent Newcastle from missing out on UCL football next season. But if somehow this happens and they must sell in order to comply with PSR rules, we must do everything possible to sign this guy.

We're never getting this guy, not now, not on your Nellie.

Shame really as he is really looking like THE guy.

He’s going to cost a lot of money and we won’t pay the wages that other clubs can.

He's out of our league wage wise and I don’t see the owners budging from the wage structure. If we did we’d have signed Osimhen in the summer.

It’s going to be Delap or possibly Duran for us I reckon.

Agree.. he was there last season after hitting 21 league goals and Newcastle needed the money, but we went after Osimhen instead telling him to make a salary sacrifice. I feel they know Isak will rightly demand £250k/w in wages so it’s a non starter.

Isak has 15 goals in 50 games for Sweden, whereas his strike partner Gyokeres has 15 in 26.

If you could only have one of them, which one would you all go for ?

No way we page the wages to get either.

Might be wrong but hasn’t Isak been played mostly on the wings, & behind Gyokeres to accommodate him? I wouldn’t read too much into those numbers. Despite how brilliant Gyokeres has been; on form the most lethal forward on the planet, can’t just shake the feeling he will be a bust in the PL.

I wonder where he ends up this Summer now Liverpool have jumped the gun and signed Ekitike.

Bayern?

PSG?

Can't see him going anywhere in the Prem. City have Haaland, LFC have Ekitike, we have J.Pedro, Arsenal are about to get Gyokeres, Utd is a huge step down.

Pool can and most likely will sign Isak as well.

That'll take their summer spend up to about 500M and possibly breaking to British transfer record (again). Lets see if the media and especially Carragher have an uproar about it like they did with us.

They'll say they still have funds from the Coutinho sale.............!!

Newcastle will look foolish if they sell him to Liverpool. Liverpool wanted Ekitike and Isak, but Newcastle also wanted Ekitike before even considering selling Isak. To lose Ekitike to Liverpool and then their own player as well.....that would make them look very weak. They just got back into the Champions League too.

Could easily get rid of Diaz & Nunez, play Isak as 9 and Ekitike as a LW.

Still feel their squad doesn’t work as things stand even without adding Isak into the mix. Can’t see how Slot fits Wirtz and Szoboszlai into the same 11.

several points ....

when Liverpool "hijacked" the Etikite deal the media described it as Liverpool were "challenging" Newcastle

Liverpool have now spent their money and Isak is likely to be available following their "tapping up" which the media describe as "admiration".

and setting all your hopes in the bundesliga is risky for as maquire desribes them as being "a very smart club" well we will see.

Doubt we will here all the comments about how much money liverpool have spent, in fact they were described as Etikite as potentially being a bargain unlike our very expensive Caicedo ( who turned them fcuckers down).

Some media genius was describing the fact that liverpool hadnt hijacked newcastles deal on etikite as in fact they were interested in him as early as january.

also read this week that Slot is a fantastic manager,... what it that the same bloke that inherited that squad , lucky is probably more appropriate.

im not a fan of the medias love for the bin dippers had you noticed?😉
