Dennis Wise took Millwall to an FA Cup Final to be fair. Tottenham aren't into that.

And look at that, the attacking sub got an assist within five minutes. Take note Maresca.

Look at the subs though, then look at our options yesterday.

Millwall's in 2004 or Man Utd's today?

I assume I won't have heard of the former, the latter's has a keeper, a kid, two corpsey midfielders, two perma-crock defenders, an overpriced flop (Antony), an off-form winger and an attacking mid the manager keeps playing as a centre-forward for some reason. That's almost identical to ours, no?

Liverpool's today.. I replied to something else entirely!  Mind you, bit of a risk bringing on subs that are basically sh*t isn't it ?

😂 ..BUT ... it took them 30 years going back way before PEP.

But back then Chelsea and Mourinho turned up !👍😂

only took us 50 years..but they did win quite a few Div 1 titles, basically dominated the league with Man U for many years between the 70's and 80's

Oh right, I was on about Garnacho's assist. Yeah, Liverpool's attacking depth is miles better than ours.

Was trying to manifest a last-minute Maguire winner as soon as I saw that set piece... clearly I was unsuccessful.

Great game, very enjoyable.

Decent entertaining game, and fair play to Utd..should have won it in the end.  We saw that Liverpool defensively are not that good when under pressure, except that they haven't really been tested this season, lets' hope some teams watching this will have a go at them for the remainder of the season.

True. And they were winning loads of cups  Most people think football started with the PL

Except us old folks who had the privilege of seeing some of the greats of that 1st Division league.

Fair play to Man Utd, played like a team that wasn't scared of Liverpool.

Could of even won it with that Jackson chance, sorry Maguire chance (muscle memory)

To be honest I've given up keeping track of the yearly idiosyncratic changes to the handball rule (@dkw might be able to help us out) but from a 'common sense' perspective that looked like a clear penalty. De Ligt was waving his arms around like an Italian making a point of order.

I'm not sure anyone on the planet fully understands the handball rule. But I think it's now rated on if the arms are outside a normal silhouette, whatever that means.

I've seen many teams play well against Liverpool this season, even Southampton who should have beaten them. They are running away with the league without really being that great. Their strength is also one of their biggest weaknesses. They love to swarm forward in synchronised fasion with their press. A lot of teams in the league panic when Liverpool do this, but if you have a player place themselves centrally behind that press, they find themselves left completely unmarked. All you then need is a bit of composure from a CM or CB to play through that quick press from Liverpool and you have taken 4 or 5 of their players out of the game. It's hard because they are so quick at it, and you will get caught now and again, but if players keep at it, they will break that press more often than not.

Watching the fulham game.

Fulham chasing for points and taking off defensive mids for wingers. Andreas Pereira their deepest midfielder now. Ipswich holding onto the game and still making subs to change the game.

Meanwhile againsgt both of these teams Maresca did like for like changes if he made changes at all. A manager needs to adapt and not be so stubborn that their way is the only way to play.

To look at it in more detail, Fulham went in at half time 1-0 down.

At half time he takes off a CB and brings on Smith Rowe. Still no breakthrough so on minute 63 he takes off Iwobi for Muniz and Cairney for Pereira, two attacking subs. 6 minutes later they equalise. 71st minute Delap scores a penalty so Fulham take off their other CM, Lukic, for Adama Traore. 90+1 they equalise and rescue a point.

In comparison to when we played Fulham, we subbed Jackson off for Nkunku in the 73rd minute. No other subs even when it was so obvious we were getting overrun.
