Remember guys, the reason we won’t bring in another striker is because it’d impede Jackson’s progress.

Actually I think it was purely down to the ineptitude of our board/directors. They spent weeks trying to get Osimhen while not coming close to what he wanted in wages. They should have moved on to other targets that were more attainable.

I get that this is a joke but I’m not against Jackson being our main striker for this season. When you think back to Drogba, he took a couple of seasons to get going and then he took the league by storm.

Jackson is a completely different player but I can see the same happening to him. He’ll give us 20 goals a season comfortably despite being frustrating, but I can see that season coming where he explodes and be on fire. It could well be next season, who knows?

Is he a centre forward though? Seems to play better as a second forward. Although I get that Maresca would prefer Jackson over Guiu and we seem to be stacked with second forwards anyway so I suppose someone has to play there. It’s a bit of mess really.

Jackson does well when we are playing on the break  which is often at the start of games, when the other team try to press but usually are opponents change there system  when they get little joy and sit deeper  Jackson becomes obsolete  this is when a striker change should happen  bring on Marc Guiu  and give him the minutes to develop give there defenders something else to think about

Impressed with the first half, there were many positives and we have to learn from that.

Second half was pretty poor, we failed to gain the momentum and play our game, Palace did a homework on use in their half-talk.

Had a feeling we're going to have a good win.. but then we lost the chance.

Let's hope for better, COME ON CHELS!!

Can we not forget how the ref screwed us today? That second foul from Hughes is a second yellow every day of the week. Blatant cheating. Aside from our own lack of ability to kill teams off, decisions like that make me hate football. The bias was obvious when their Asian player got away with multiple fouls.

The ref was just trying to do us a favour. He knew we'd never score against a 10-man low block so did his best to keep it 11v11 so we'd have the best chance of a home win 🙂

By not signing Osimhen it strangely puts more pressure on Jackson, because everytime Jackson misses a chance he’ll be compared to Osimhen who everyone will now assume will have scored it.

Our Leicester visitors warned us of performances and dropped points, especially at home, like this.

Less points at home than anyway this season?

Was convinced we were going to win that comfortably after half time. But we just stopped playing, couldn’t find each other, created little, and were getting overrun and having to defend and block. In the end I was relieved we got a point.

Short highlights:

1st Noni chance he has a choice, shoot or pull back to Palmer for a near open goal. If you pick option one and miss you are no better than Sterling.

2nd Noni chance he has to score.

1st Jackson chance in stoppage time play it to Felix and go for a give and go.

2nd chance one on one sh*t touch followed by hit and hope. Not good enough.

Differe we need to give up on Mudryknt when we play top sides but Caicedo has nothing to contribute when we are dominating and trying to break down defences.   Sorry but Colwell not a top CB and surely

Osimhen gets better the more he doesn't play.

Jackson cost us 3 points today. No other way to look at it.

Lack of clinical strikers, a defence always going to leak a goal, and unable to break low blocks. They only had one real goal threat in Eze, and when it mattered nobody got near him and basically a free shot, and he didn't waste it. Jackson is improving, but on any given day he's going to miss a couple of easy chances, doubt it will change soon. We have a pool of attacking players, but too many of them are actually causing problems comes to selection, and they need time to play together to build the partnership. In the midfield we are actually very thin, you get pass Caicedo there aren't that much covering.
