Agreed. Glasner was given a pile of bo**ocks at Palace and turned them into a much better side almost instantly.

If we play players in their best positions we might give ourselves an outside chance.

Feel like the passing was the biggest issue for me.

This team panics so easily. No composure and all the worse when the opposition frustrates us.

I watched some of the Brighton vs Man U game the other week and Billy Gilmour absolutely ran the bloody show.

How can Napoli get BG for £12m and yet we pay £100+ for Enzo who probably had the worst game of his life today?

Yup. Look at Liverpool.

Liverpool is a much more experienced and settled side than us. Their core consists of players with pedigree and experience that played together (and won) for years.

We've got the youngest team in the league and a manager who just took over.

The passing was horrendous. One of those matches where I was constantly rolling my eyes and swearing. Really sloppy.

The other one I still don't get - we waited a season or more for Nkunku to get fit and played Jackson as our striker because of it...

Why are we still playing Jackson as our striker ?

He showed his lack of composure in front of goal again today...

Baffles me.

Look at City v West Ham. All the passes City played through the channels, for all 90mins, were strong and crisp. That is the standard.
As opposed to our players under hitting these same passes all second half when we needed to kill the game.

We are so f**king far and away from the top 3. These players still haven’t grasped the standard needed to compete in this league.

Maresca is a manager who like to play interesting build up. Caicedo drop as cb, gusto play as dm with Fofana playing as rb is interesting. In the end of the day this doesn't matter.

We are playing a very similar team as last seaosn so we have the same problem and the same strength.

That 1 on 1 for Jackson in the end proves we need a proper striker. Haaland buries that no issues.

There are too many issues like this throughout the squad.

Palace don't score at all if Colwill or Fofana, can't remember who it was, just leaves the cross for Sanchez to claim. Instead we get the usual lack of composure which leads to a poor clearance and a good Eze shot.

The simple fact is that almost every player makes too many errors throughout the match that ends up costing us points. We almost never get a performance where the whole team just clicks.

Yup. You only need one hand to count the comfortable performances we had the past 2 seasons.

Can these greedy f**king w**kers start passing to each other? f**k me

My thoughts exactly, all of them holding on to the ball far too long. Tempo way to slow. Passing througout was slow and inaccurate. I don't care who scores the goals, the attacking unit, need to work as one. If it means running out to take defenders away, then you are doing your part, and contributing to the goal. Selfishness is not a good trait.

The sloppy passing was crucial. CP had a field day picking them off and away CP went. And with Maresca's insistence on rotating players all over the pitch no one seems to know where they're supposed to be.

Palmer looked like Messi for Argentina circa 2015-2019.

Horrific management.

Same old story.

Ref blatantly helping out the opposition by not sending off Hughes.

Chelsea missing big chances at the end - maybe buying a decent striker might of solved this but I suppose that’s too simple.

Football is way too slow and then we literally only speed it up in added on time, baffling.

We are hardly ever gonna keep a clean sheet, now matter how few chances the opposition have.

Same old story.

Yah... I hope Maresca makes em all sit down and watch the replay of it 3 or more times until it sinks in that it's a team sport - we should have and could have won that game easy today without the selfishness.

The dreadful passing and awful ball hogging cost us the game - and Jackson - but in his defence that's not his fault: everyone but the Manager seems to know he's not really a striker.

 Decent in the first half

Poor second half

Palace deserved their point

Too many sloppy passes

Match though swung on a refereeing decision from a referee who happily showed the yellow but failed to give a second to Hughes

This is likely to be a very frustrating season and like our shirt finish empty

It’s a sad day when we think that Palace not being reduced to 10 men swung the match!

Poor second half aside, the refereeing was abysmal yet again.

How do you not give such a blatant second yellow? Completely changes everything when one team gets away with it.

Not to mention Kamada who for some reason got away with it on numerous occasions in the first half.

I think Maresca wants to play with a big striker upfront and we don’t have one but Jackson looks like one only he can’t finish, so he plays him because those idiot SDs have just wasted another transfer window failing to bring in an effing striker who isn’t a raw kid from the Barcelona youth team.

Starting lineup.

Nope Nkunku doesn't  feel like a new signing unless you play him on rw

I think the entire team including the subs actually counts.  11+5  - this is the modern game and to say that only the starting line-up counts is niave.  And yep, Nkunku was playing on the RW and therefore he was like a new signing.

And everyone is rotating. Only the wingers stay wide at all costs. BUT then we brought on the Mudryck and played him wide and so Mr.Felix was playing? Was he supposed to be playing alongside Jackson and waiting for the knock downs or was he supposed to be playing deeper alongside and rotating with Palmer? either way Felix went awol. IF he was playing alongside Jackson why we were not hitting long balls to Jackson? Not all the time but on occasion. variety is the spice of life - the key.  The modern game of football.  The point of rotating is to keep the attacking game fluid and to confuse the opposition - yet we were super predictable.

We need to play sharper and more fluid. The team needs to learn to play as a team with these new tactics and strategies.
