Chelsea vs Crystal Palace (PL) Sun 1st September 24 13:30 GMT

Problem for me was we did not put them away in the first when we were playing well after HT Palace changed and were good hitting us on the counter, we needed more than one.

Their manager is quite clever, I noticed how they contained Madueke in the 2nd and crowded out Nkunku as he went to pull the trigger from wide right.

The stream worked though was poor quality otherwise would say more.

No different from last season. We create a ton of chances in one half, slow down, approach the second half like we have already won the game, concede a sloppy goal, never get going again.

Tired of watching this repeat.

I think CP had a game plan and they slowed the game down.. NJ should have scored - that’s the difference between us and the top teams.. haaland doesn’t miss that.

 Decent in the first half

Poor second half

Palace deserved their point

Too many sloppy passes

Match though swung on a refereeing decision from a referee who happily showed the yellow but failed to give a second to Hughes

This is likely to be a very frustrating season and like our shirt finish empty

I didn’t think it was a terrible performance, Palace camped in their half the whole game and they did a pretty good job cutting off the service to Palmer.

Yes it would have been nice to win, if luck were on our side we’d have got a winner late on through Jackson.

It’s only our 3rd game under a new manager and I like what I see so far. Especially the rise of Madueke, and alot of new players still getting to know each other. Nkunku is pretty much a new signing, and there’s Neto & Felix.

Give the team time.

Really poor result that.

Jackson still shouldve won it.

Maresca with the most complicated setup I've ever seen, Caicedo dropping into centre back, Fofana out to right back, sometimes Gusto or Cucurella inverts, Palmer dropping deep to receive the ball 50 yards from goal, Enzo positioned wide left.

Honestly I don't see the benefit of playing like this, because the minute we lose the ball our shape is horrendous, gaping holes in mthe middle, and there is no benefit going forward.

Confusing follow up from the 2nd half last week.

Awful game.

Someone needs to ask the ref why that foul by hughes wasn’t a 2nd yellow card, he expected it and so did their manager, couyget him off quick ent

Especially if what Neto and Fofana did were yellows the ref bottled it.. also the Japanese international escaped a booking and played 80 mins beyond me..

Hard f**king watch... I just don't get it - Enzo - how many times did he give it away to them on the attack?

And Noni now thinks he's a superstart... ffs

That was painful - we were lucky to get a draw in the end.

I don't know where we should play Enzo but it is definitely no where he was today - useless.

Disappointing from Chelsea. It comes down to inexperience to me. Our players lack of experience and gamesmanship. We had control of the game and we gave it up. As the game went on, Palmer was coming deeper and deeper to collect the ball. I know Maresca likes to rotate players - so why didn't Felix come deeper to collect the ball on occasion? options. We need to be less predictable for the opposition.

A draw - not the worst result ever. But a game we should have won. We need to take those chances when we get them.

Arsenal or Liverpool would’ve won that 1-0. City would’ve won that 4-1.

We neither have the defence nor attack to secure these type of points.

We've beaten these every season for the past 5+ years, no need to mention other teams.

The ref was terrible, Hughes should have had a red, and  Kamada just kept fouling without any consequences.

Still, a better side would have found a way to win this one. We are a work in progress, so being inconsistent is understandable. Even if Maresca is the man for the job, and we don't know that yet, it'll take time to turn this group into a cohesive unit. So we'll just have to accept that and be ready for Jekyl and Hyde performances for the foreseeable future.

Palmer picking the ball up off the centre backs on the half way.

Exactly - wtf is doing back there... it was shyte today it really was.

Felix showed his class again... should've scored.

Noni should have played him in but didn't - tosser.

It’s a poor result and catastrophic 2nd half performance.

Palace were never going to score unless we handed it to them and in standard Chelsea fashion we did just that.

It’s 2 massive points dropped.

5th game. 4 poor performances and one good half against Wolves. All of these performances have been no different than what we were seeing under Pochettino.
