Good to see Palmer finally get a shot off. Feels like a long-distance effort from him or Madueke (or maybe a timely delivery from Reece) is the only way we're going to score here.

Whoscored seem pretty on the money with the first half player ratings ... disappointing from pretty much the whole team bar Lavia. The players who have done well so far this season have all gone AWOL today unfortunately ... 

 

Maresca will need to try something different if we are going to get anything out o this one ...

Our players are giving too much respect to this lot. If they leave that tension in the changing room this second half, we are going to go over them. They’re just playing as if they were scared. f**k them dippers, get in their faces and play with the attacking intensity we know they can, then we’ll win.

Thought that was really poor actually. Not surprised though. For so many attack minded players we have offered virtually nothing offensively. Jackson looks more of a hindrance. Lavia is our best player but even he is being outnumbered. They are just lofting balls into our defensive midfield area and we're wide open. Our defence looks so fragile, especially Tosin who must be unsettling them all.

Only positives for me so far is Lavia, and that James is still on the pitch.

Not over yet. If we are more positive, Jackson comes off for N'kunku, and we get the ball to Noni more often we could do this.

Really poor. On the ball, we've done nothing, not even tested the keeper. Off the ball, the usual disaster, especially when Liverpool get out of their own half.

Personally, I think Maresca is somehow doing a worse job than Pochettino when it comes to the off the ball work. There doesn't ever seem to be any protection for the defence, and because of this inverted full back stuff, we are often left with too few players in defence. The mistakes are infuriating too. Every single game that we have conceded in has come from a mistake.

Palmer needs to do more. Been way too quiet. He was very quiet in the same fixture last season. Needs to do more. Come on. Want to see Nkunku for Jackson second half. Lavia has done well. 

What an awful game by both teams, tbh any opposition manager should know you let Chelsea have the ball and the defence gives up plenty of chances.
