I’m watching Arsenal v Liverpool none of them have anything that separates them from us bar our lapse in defending at times, if we sort that we are easily as good if not better

I am in the opinion of that this team needs a win against one of top three to really kick things off.

Hopefully it happens soon.

  • I thought we were really good today. I liked the team, I liked Maresca's approach.
  • I thought Lavia was outstanding throughout, what a player he could be for us.
  • I thought Caicedo put in a really solid performance  throughout the whole game.
  • I thought Jackson looked sharp, inventive and, actually, accurate.
  • I thought James was superb.
  • I thought Colwill, Neto and Gusto had solid games.
  • I thought Palmer, again, was pure gold dust.
  • I thought Madueke and Fofana were a little bit in and out.

But this goalkeeper just continued to undermine the confidence amongst the players. He did it in the first half and we lost a goal. He then did the same in the second half, yet we battled through to earn the points.

Hospital passes, punts off the pitch, long passes that we have no chance of winning and short passes that caught our own players unawares.

A bit of solidity at the back and a confidence booster display rather than undermining and if we could get a decent, non controversial win at OT or against Arsenal and the belief will really flood into this group.

On his 44th appearance, Nicolas Jackson became the fifth quickest player to score 20 Premier League goals for Chelsea - behind Diego Costa (26 apps), Cole Palmer (27 apps), Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink (33 apps) and Mark Stein (37 apps).

Ok but how many of them actually mattered? 🙄

Getting all warm and fuzzy when you mention Mark Stein. Loved him in his brief stint with us, think he even held a premier league record of scoring in consecutive games for a while

Think only Liverpool would qualify. He should have closed down Jones and not allowed that goal.

Evening all, did it differently this time. Posted comments in rgds to the individual stand out players under their threads. Leaving this thread for a general post.

The game went by soo quick. Great game and I agree we made it excruciatingly harder for ourselves. One word "Sanchez!" If we don't get top 4/6 then it's because of him!

And wtf is nkunku doing! Was he determined to try and get a second yellow at the end. Apart for those 10mins and sanchez's distribution all game I think the kids did well. You can see the pressure to win this by "some" of them.

Palmer is sublime. James saved 3 goals and needs to continue trying harder and getting better (better in 2nd half than first), he has it in him. Jackson's link up play was brilliant and again, his speed surprises me. Especially running with the ball, you can see the difference and how much slower nkunku is when he came on and ran with it.

The negatives...

-Sanchez. Noni needs a timeout and get his head straight. Sanchez. Fofana worries me a bit as it seems he has a mistake in him in every game. Sanchez. Sanchez. And finally Sanchez.

I have one request for maresca if I can somehow get a msg through...

PLS PLS PLS maresca, the top priority now needs to be defence and set piece coaching.

We all know and can see the work done in creating a squad on the same wavelength that can easily interchange. Amazing.

We can see the work done on our attacking dept (Brilliant) and yes there is progress already showing with the work being done in midfield (lavia is a big part of that) but can we skip the rest and start on the defence pls.

And we need a new goalkeeper!

I've asked in the sanchez thread about Keller.

The twat is gone!!!! I can enjoy the last 13 mins of the game.

Smh...you'd enjoy the whole game if you took a deep breath and got behind him bud. Lol. And not a single thing about Sanchez! Or even noni missing a sitter, getting a silly yellow for kicking the ball away or trying to get himself sent off with a second yellow! Hahaha, blinkers mate, irrational blinkers.

That near post finish becoming a Palmer trademark

The thing is that's the keepers bread and butter, they should be able to save those. But he hits them soo sweetly, precise, little warning and like a fkn rocket.

I only saw the 2nd as around wit the family yet was impressed by Neto, Caicedo, Palmer and Jackson.

Thought we should have had a penalty and the ref bottled it, thought the VAR slowed down showed the foul clearly.

Still did well to hang on for all of 99 mins.

Good day all round with the other results, getting better as the season continues, but we really need to sort out our defence especially the keeper.

Big result. Absolutely rapt with that.

Been a good weekend with Liverpool, Arsenal, Villa, Spurs and United all dropping points.
