June 5, 20251 yr https://metro.co.uk/2025/06/05/west-ham-reject-chelsea-swap-deal-offer-mohammed-kudus-23336290/West Ham have turned down a transfer bid for Mohammed Kudus from Chelsea, according to reports.TalkSPORT report that the Blues made a player-plus-cash offer for the 24-year-old, who has a release clause in his Hammers contract set at £85m.The report states that Chelsea offered goalkeeper Robert Sanchez and midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall as options for West Ham in a deal for Kudus. However, the Hammers are keen to keep hold of the Ghana international, who they paid £38m for when they signed him from A**x in 2023.Kudus scored 14 goals in 45 appearances in his first season with West Ham and managed five in 35 in the most recent campaign. June 5, 20251 yr Let's hope we don't need Sanchez and KDH to do anything meaningful in the Club World Cup ... their motivation must now be on the floor LOL
June 5, 20251 yr He's had a pretty bad season overall, probably not helped by Lopetegui, but from March onwards I thought he looked better. Clearly talented player but West Ham will ask for way too much to make this viable.
June 5, 20251 yr Metro are unreliable, but to Kudus himself, he had a poor season tbh. He was better the season before. I feel he is one of those players however, who can get a lot better, especially at a better team. He just needs to unleash the potential. But for the fee when you consider the season he had was quite poor, no way should we ever pay that amount. But, yeah I think despite that, he is one of those players who I think we may be thinking 'look how good he is now'. I like him and like I said I think he will get better. Remember Bowen at his first couple seasons at West Ham. He was not even a regular starter at first and now look how good he is. I see Kudus as having a high ceiling, despite not yet reaching it and going to be 25 in summer, more to come I feel.
June 5, 20251 yr It would be a really good signing, he’d be a very high quality squad player. Not for 85m though. If we can include Sanchez & Dewsbury Hall and offer something like 35m, then that wouldn’t be a bad deal.
June 5, 20251 yr They're looking for a keeper aren't they? If they don't fancy Sánchez, then how about Kepa?

June 5, 20251 yr Author Do these cash plus players swaps ever work in football? I wonder why we keep seeing these offers in transfer rumours since they almost never go through. It's the same routine: club A offers fee plus players, club B replies: kiss my ass, show me the money. Edited June 5, 20251 yr by abramovich

June 5, 20251 yr Would be a big a bargain as Delap is should Chelsea buy Kudus for something like 30-35M and also get rid of some squad players that are not going to get a lot of minutes anytime soon. Straight cash for 55-60M, I would give it a pass. He is good, but not really 60M good.
June 5, 20251 yr Sounds like Potter is interested in Sanchez, we should be concentrating on that part of the deal
June 5, 20251 yr Yeah one the one hand west ham sources released this and said they don't want players in exchange. On another they apparently want to sign Sanchez and want to sell kudus to raise money.Sounds like they want around 65mill for kudus, and for Sanchez to be sold around 15mill.
June 5, 20251 yr If we can get Sanchez out the door and Maignan in for the same money or even a small profit I’d be a happy man
June 5, 20251 yr I am guessing, if we are actually interested and this is not west ham using us to get a sale, we would look at him being part of a fluid 3 that all are more than capable of playing either as a 10, a right attacker or left attacker. That 3 being Palmer, estevao and kudus

Not sure if it was this forum or another, but I said when he signed for West Ham that he’s going to be forcing an exit in 2-3 years. Terrible move for him.

Last night’s game v Ecuador showed how he might struggle against physical teams. Clearly a ridiculous talent, it’s just a case of how soon he adjusts to the PL. Ideally he needs 3 seasons before we regularly count on him, it’s just a case of who starts ahead of in the interim. We still need 2 additions to replace Murdyk & Sancho, perfect world you buy Kudus and Mbuemo. A trio of Kudus, Palmer and Mbuemo is competitive enough, has goals and will supply Delap. You then have Neto, Madueke & Estevao as your bench options.
June 6, 20251 yr I think that Potter is interested in Sanchez but even so the pot still isn't sweet enough to get us Kudus yet. I'd throw in Chilwell as well. He has already intimated (allegedly) that he would be prepared to take a lower wage somewhere,, Potter likes him, and Cresswell has just left.
June 6, 20251 yr It won’t be a direct Cash+Player deal, they barely ever happen with PSR, it’ll be another one of those Maatsen/Kellyman Gallagher/Felix swaps that we do so well out of. If the pikeys were to take Sanchez/Chilwell/KDH & we got Kudus in return, that’s a major coup for us. Not only upgrading but also getting rid of the deadwood (& Champions League winner Ben Chilwell)
June 6, 20251 yr I do think there’s a good player in kudus and think he’d be less of a risk than Gittens but there’s a couple of things that concern me. If he was stifled in the first half of last season and then lost interest is this the kind of mentality we want? We have enough attackers that play well when the team plays well but seem to disappear when the going gets tough. The second thing and this might just be me but palmer, estevao, Paez, Madueke, Neto are all left footed and three are number 10s who ideally like to drift right. We also have Quenda from next summer. Our right footed attackers are Sterling and mudryk and I doubt either will be in the squad next season. Is signing kudus a number 10/rw who is left footed going to just add to the unbalanced nature or does it matter?

Is signing kudus a number 10/rw who is left footed going to just add to the unbalanced nature or does it matter?I suspect that Madueke will be going out the door. I also suspect that the penny will drop that as generational as Estevao and Paez are they are just not up to the physicality of this league yet. So i think that they will be used sparingly. Neto can play on either flank (not well enough for me but that's another topic). Delap is right footed and apparently they are also looking for a right footed LW. So i think that there is a place for Kudus and i think that he would be an upgrade on what we have.I think that the losing interest bit is a little unfair. You could level the same at Palmer for the second half of our season. He played under Lopetegui who was cr@p. So they then got in Potter who was worse. AS has been said about Potter since his Brighton days, his teams don't score goals. Also in Kudus' favoured position is Wets Ham's only other credible player, in Bowen. I think in the right environment, given some licence (what under Maresca?) Kudus could be a very good player for us. He can dribble with the ball and create space around him without always looking like he has never really got control of the ball,
June 6, 20251 yr Going to put it out there for this to be pinned to hammer me with later, but much as i would have really liked us to get Mbeumo as i have always liked him, if we are able to get a deal done that gets us Kudus, i would see that as a really decent signing for us. I think that he would genuinely add a lot to our game, that a lot of our current wingers rarely bring.
July 1, 20251 yr Author Apparently Spuds are pushing to sign him. I'd be very unhappy if we let them have a free run at Kudus, he's easily more talented than all of the attackers we've signed this window.
