And all it took was a billion pounds and to become everything they used to hate, the hypocritcal f**kwits.

Real surprise that theres barely a mention of the money they have spent, the wages they have, the abysmal style of Stokey football they play.

Liver pool and arsenal are immune to being criticized for spending for whatever reason apparently

The club left no stone unturned in their attempts to find a competitive advantage at corner kicks. They have been proactive in dialogue with Howard Webb and PGMOL match officials, road testing ideas and trying to set, define and exploit margins of what is permissible within the laws of the game.

Unbelievable.

I personally think a lot of football officials wanted Arsenal to win as thought City had dodgy financial dealings, I also think they have done this to us in previous times because of the Russian ownership.

Nonsense. With respect.

Very annoying seeing Villa in the Europa final given that they gifted Spurs 3 points and couldn’t be bothered. Hope that lose as payback.

Bastards.

So am I right, cos it wasn't really mentioned during commentary. Great for Villa tonight but win on Sunday and doesn't it mean that Bournemouth will qualify for the CL?

If so, do they qualify automatically or is there a play off?

Villa would have to lose to City, while Pool win their match against Brentford. That way Villa would finish 5th, thus giving that 5th CL spot to Bournemouth (6th place). If Villa finishes 4th, then the scousers would get benefited with the 5th CL spot and 6th goes to Europa League.

Meh, they're no different from any other fanbase really. I think many of us err by mistaking internet people for real people.

They have perhaps been uninspiring, but less so than the rest of the league (and the clubs in Europe come to think of it). I'm reminded of when the roles were reversed and Arsenal fans were dismissing our achievements because we 'didn't play proper football', 'kicked opponents off the pitch' (etc.) These sour grapes are as old as time.

depends what gooners you know personally. They like Liverpool imo have an unhealthy sense of entitlement and I can remember when we won the title in 05 they (some) were saying that that title should have been theirs because we bought it! The logic staggers me. the players still have to perform. I dislike Arsenal with every fiber of my being, chiefly because my football manager for my local Sunday team was a proper Arsenal man and it coincided with us being..not so good at the time ( The early 80s)

Emery is the Europa League specialist. Only time he didn't win a final was against us in 2019.

  • (2014, 2015, 2016) = Sevilla

  • (2021) = Villarreal

  • (2026) = Aston Villa

Isnt there some daft thing where Brentford now need to lose to ensure they get a european place, though the way Liverpool have played lately Brentford might try their hardest to throw the game and still win....

Don't forget Alan Smith and him constantly talking up Arsenal and saying "the gunners" every 5 minutes.

It's laughable that Sky want us to pay for such bias punditry.

Easily overcome. Synch up radio commentary.

Southampton get everything they deserve. Utterly bizarre behaviour given that they knew - or should have known - that observing (spying on) an opponent within 72 hours of a match is against the law. The law was enacted after the Bielsa spying on Derby incident in 2019. Leeds were fined for what amounted to bringing the game into disrepute.

Seems manager Eckert claims spying is common in Europe. Might well be, my son. The FA is now investigating. Expect a lengthy suspension. Along with other senior participants.

Players and fans in revolt and rightly so. How the club survives this is anyone's guess.

The thing I can’t wrap my head around is how Boro are just essentially given a bye to the Final? Surely the fairest solution would be to restart the Play Offs with Wrexham included instead of Saints?

I get that’s harsh on Hull but the removal of a club and free passage of another just seems wrong. Everyone’s been affected. Everyone should be included.

Problem is there is no precedent to follow. It looks like Wrexham and Millwall aren't legally challenging the decision - given the timeframe - but are considering suing for potential financial loss later.

The only one I feel sorry for is the lad doing the spying. An intern. Doing what he was told. Heavens knows what personal impact this is having. I hope he's being supported.
