Liam Rosenior - Chelsea Head Coach *Now Sacked*

Some comparisons could be made between us and Man United the way both managers left over similar grumbles this season but there are notable differences. Man United opted to bring in a similarly inexperienced coach but they have made him an interim as a posed to giving out a 6 year deal. Clearly, they plan to bring in somebody with more experience in the summer, but we are happy to continue with an inexperienced coach as long as he willingly follows orders from above. I hope Liam succeeds but he is up against it, given the combination of expectations alongside the project in place.

United might just be a better run club then us... I mean they have a sponor.

It won't though. The owners will pay for astroturfing in the media, and we'll be given a narrative that claims James' situation was untenable. Rosenior will be duly trotted out to 'explain' the situation some LinkedIn rhetoric. Social media will be awash with primarily American fans claiming that all is well and good in the 'project'.

You and I will know better though.

I do wonder what it would take for a full revolt to take place (and what it would even look like - presumably all the owners care about is bums on seats and there's never a shortage of tourists willing to pay £70 for a seat in West Lower). Andrew Marr made reference to Britannia's 'vast, heavy buttocks'* as the reason for its resistance to change (specifically highlighting how it prevented the uptake of Communism); maybe that's a factor here too.

*I think I've remembered this right, I don't really want to Google that on my work PC.

Brentford had 15 shots to our 6

They had 5 on target to our 2

And we had more xG from our 6 shots than they had from their 15.

Quantity doesn't equal quality.

Is that mainly due to our penalty? I guess and the Garnacho howler of a miss. Joao Pedro goal was a great finish but other than that I struggle to think of other chances we had.

Brentford missed a straightforward 1 on 1 (great Sanchez save), Schade decided should have scored early one, he has the ball just outside the 6 yard box, and tanother player fluffed a volley from pretty much the same spot. I would normally expect one or two of those to go in, let alone all the other chances.

To me its a situation where the stats say one thing, but the eye-test tells another story.

I must admit, I don't know what XG is all about or how it is calculated .

But regardless, they were better than us . Our 2 shots on target were a penalty and the other a result of their clearance going straight to our player if I remember correctly??

I'd rather play like at the weekend and leave with three points than dominate possession like we did under Maresca and draw or lose.

I'd rather not play any of those ways..

I'd rather we played good exciton football, be the better team and win ...

Playing like we did at the weekend isn't a recipe for success.

That's true. Maybe just play better than the other team , with a style of football that is enjoyable to watch. ? .

It is written in the stars.

Hope for the best but a coach with so little experience is an incredible accident waiting to happen. In fact most of the recruitment of players defies logic and we can forget about trophies or CL qualification for next season or ever again. So sorry for all.

How we played at the weekend was not good. We were extremely lucky. Play like that every week and it will swing either way. No consistency.

Far better than having 80% possession with zero progressive passes and losing 2-0
