If he feels the mot important thing to a keeper is his ability to play line breaking passes would be good to have someone ask him why he does not play Reece as our keeper.

We dominated a lot of the game only to be let down by the reason we aren't an outstanding team, and that's the goalkeeping and defender choices we have. A great team challenges for the league and champions league. This squad is incapable of doing either let alone both.

You play to your weaknesses surely? Sanchez is the better option of our 2 goalkeepers but he is not comfortable with the ball at his feet. So you pick the best option of your keepers, and don't play a system that requires him to be a sweeper.

Which is why we aren't there yet, but we're about 3 signings away from being able to do so imo. Whether or not the board are capable of making the correct decision and to rectify their experience since mistakes is another conversation.

Palmer, JP(on form) , Estevao, Caicedo, Santos, Lavia(if healthy), Reece(if healthy) are Top 4, title challenge material.

Enzo, Gusto, Cucu, Garnacho, Hato - works well in the right system and has workable limitations.

The rest are pretty much garbage if the aim is Top 4 and CL.

Pretty sure we would have been no worse off under Maresca. The improvement in league position was largely down to a favorable run of matches against struggling teams and we only squeaked through a number of them.

Now how is it a numpty like myself can see so clearly Jorgensen is a bum, and disaster many knew was going to happen tonight, yet our highly paid head coach thought it was a good idea to start him?

Don't matter Sanchez is an average goalkeeper with brainfarts in him, Jorgensen is a poor keeper who messes up constantly.

So how can this idiot see what's so obvious from just TV and internet clips but Rosenior who takes training and has access to state of the art equipment cannot see it?

Potter initially promoted Sanchez because he was much better at passing out the back than Maty Ryan or Jason Steele, and it was then that Sanchez made his name. I understand LR dropping Sanchez. The result couldve been the same with him in goal.

I don't understand why he instructs the keeper to focus on playing out from the back unless the cost of error is less than 5%. All that hard work undone for crap tika taka in and around our own box. Keeper should also have a brain cell too. If we continue to play like this, i want him gone.

I would even question why we chased the game at 3-2 with under 10 mins left. At that point see it out and take a narrow defeat back to the Bridge.

That was hard to watch. We weren’t that bad but make stupid mistakes and can never play 90 mins.

It’s a game of margins and we are repeatedly on the wrong side. It’s getting old. They just don’t learn - the players, coaches and manager. Same nonense.

The sad thing is I’m not even that bothered when we play. The last five games I’ve not watch live - that’s the first in 40 years for me.

One of the things I just can’t wrap my head around, is that if you decide to make Jørgensen nr 1 before prior to Villa why the hell do you play Sanchez vs Wrexham? Probably wouldn’t make too much of a difference, but Jørgensen has barely played for two years so surely you give him game time if you know he is to play vs PSG? Its not the biggest of issues, but it just seems there are a number of these instances where we just refuse to do the sensible thing

There are so many lazy comments and false impressions made by commentators and pundits. This tactic has never been shown to work anywhere at a serious level.

Every keeper is comfortable with the ball at their feet to a degree cos they're professionals but what does that mean? People cite Man City and Ederson as the origin of defensive inclusion of the keeper. Not in this way though. Ederson was great with the ball at his feet, but very rarely took stupid chances.

I agree with you, Sanchez is better with the ball than Jorgensen, providing he is allowed to play the mid and long passes that he is good at along with simple recycling. The only time he falls apart is when he is called upon to play a short baiting game.

This manager, along with every other failing manager that does this , insists on playing a baiting press system. Where has this ever been a thing. Brighton. To what level though?

We did okay last night for periods, because PSG were statues and let us move through them. As soon as Kvara came on and they tightened the press it was inevitable that this poor quality keeper would get found out again. Not because of how comfortable he is with the ball but simply because he isn't a footballer. He doesn't have the required level of decision making. He's not having air shots, mis-hitting the ball. No this is just crap pass selection.

This press bait bo**ocks cannot be successful on a sustainable level. Tactically its the defensive equivalent of doing a Panenka. If all you did was a Panenka at every penalty how long before it got rumbled and compensated for.
