Summer recruiting?

We are sell to buy and has been mentioned elsewhere there is such a massive drop off to the squad players, who is going to buy them at the ridiculous values our sh*t SDs value these at.

The only purchases I can see happening will be after first team players are sold

Yeah cant argue with that😔

Obviously there are numerous issues that need addressing, but one factor tonight for me was the youthfulness and lack of experience in the side. I think as long as we will not sign anyone over 21, we will be at risk of panicking and imploding as we did tonight.

One slight positive is that we did manage to regain some composure and avoid conceding 3 or 4 and how we didn’t win in the end, only Cole Palmer knows.

Take Hato, Acheampong, and Gusto on their own and place one of them in a defence full of experience and I think they would grow to be great players, but they can't do that here because they are all playing together and expected to grow together. It just doesn't work like that. The best defenders tend to grow when they are playing alongside experience.

I still can’t believe Palmer missed that chance.

Literally was harder to miss than score, those 2 dropped points could prove to be so costly.

One other thing about tonight’s game. Watching a bit of West Ham v Utd, the difference in atmosphere between theirs and ours is striking. I really don’t rate the atmosphere at Stamford Bridge. And that’s probably harder to address than the on field issues.

I was with you up to this point. Wait, what?

Maybe he should learn just enough Italian to live up to his name? 😁

I didn’t think the Caicedo tackle was a foul but brain dead to tackle there. How VAR can’t see that the Leeds player did that leg flick lark is beyond me.

Also for the equalizer, I just saw the replay again…Leeds player handles the ball deliberately not accidentally. Again a mystery how they have it. VAR is a joke.

Never a deliberate handball. We had more than enough chances to clear it. Caicedo just switched off and then Sanchez and Josh f**ked up between them.

The Acheampong bashing is a bit wide of the mark here.

He might well become an elite CB but he is not ready yet. He can be sloppy with his distribution and decision making, and with the way that we play at the back, with no safety net, it's always a danger.

Therefore you cannot have him at CB with a waste if space like Gusto next to him. Similarly you can't expect Chalobah to be the experienced one when he is having to help Hato through who, by the way, is way short of what he was bigged up to be.

Acheampong will be great if we play him at RB with an experienced quality CB next to him (errm). Once he has matured in the role and a bit more experienced in these physical matches he can then take the CB role.

Both youth player FBs played parts in both goals tonight but this potential line up should have been foreseen and catered for in order to avoid the potential vulnerability

I think it was a penalty -- just can't see Caicedo touching the fooball, so he only catches the left leg of the runner.

I agree that the ref missed the handball. I'm 100% sure it was intentional. Maybe it qualifies in "it has made the player’s body unnaturally bigger" category.

However, my understanding the play that led to the goal is a subsequent one, so VAR can no longer interfere. It's made even worse given that the assist came from Josh, so it's like possession shifted back to us and then back to them before the goal.

Utd losing what a chance to secure top 4 fuxking w**kers

Top 4, at the moment I don't care. This is a grudge match and they once again get to lord it over us, and it is all on us. Unlike at their place we played well, were the better side and blew it in 10 sloppy minutes and missing golden chances.

This one hurts.

I agree, I actually thought he looked decent before that goal. For me this is on our constant reshuffling of the back line. Acheampong needs to play alongside someone with more experience and leadership. If Fofana can’t stay fit then we need an actual grown up CB

Can’t focus too much on the Palmer chance, knee height, fired across a wet pitch: it is what it is. Caicedo however, forever an unreliability, can talk all day about how he never gets a rest, but the lack of discipline will always cost us.

We allow the softest f**king goals, i hope Sarr adds a lot of physicality to the team. Is Cucurella injured or something ?

Apparently Cucurella felt a tweak in his hamstring at HT so was taken off as a precaution. At least that was the explanation.

Is he the shortest on the pitch? Not much use in the box at free kick?

Back post? Not much use AT TAKING the kick either that’s the issue last kick of the game make it a good one

Wish they would make their minds up. TNT and the stream I was watching said they were told by our team that Cucurella's sub wasn't injury related. Hard to keep up at times.

This is why I said the other day that James wasn't injured (turned out he was in the end) because we keep getting conflicting answers.
