Aston Villa vs Chelsea (PL) Wednesday 4th March 19:30 GMT

Well deserved lead. We are getting the ball into good positions regularly. Two quality goals. Overall an enjoyable half of football. Away fans giving it socks as usual.

But Jaysus the negativity on here. Everyone is a c**t. Even retard can be levelled at our players and go unremarked.

I've never perceived a lack of effort (I include Jackson in that). Surely we can comment on their shortcomings without resorting to abuse.

Yep. 1 goal behind Jackson’s first season, and all non-penalty goals too.

Enough time has passed, to tick that off as a success, a broken clock is right twice a day.

19 goals and 8 assists in his first 40 games for the club.

I don’t think Palmer feels fit enough. He’s lost that “I don’t give a sh*t” attitude that makes him the player he is.

The gallus part of his personality and the way he plays has disappeared for now.

It’s a great observation. He seemed to perform best when he appeared to not give a cr*p. Think he knows he’s up against it here, must be worrying for the higher ups as his value must be deflating somewhat…

Garnacho and JPedro are making the difference, more of this in the second half. Just give them the ball anywhere, anytime, Mings Cash and Konsa are unable to deal with them. Cash on a yellow.

It's amazing what difference a bit of tempo, energy and decisiveness does. Good half overall. Now, no brainfarts lads and keep up agood tempo right through to the end.

We are a completely different team when we play with tempo. We used to say Meresca should take the handbrake off, hope we don’t sit back and f**k around with it second half.

Joao Pedro is world class. Win this because Villa won't keep the pace for this final part of the season. They hit their peak already.

Villa do also have another realistic path into Champions League via Europa. As the season goes on they may have to weigh up priorities.

Bang on. He looks like he's trying rather than just letting it flow. Hopefully just needs a couple of good moments to get his mojo back.

Last striker we had who could dink it like that was Anelka

I love a good dink finish. Was very fashionable about 20 years ago. Nice to see it make a comback.

These huddles are brilliant. Funny how much it winds people up, footballers are so easily wound up it’s ridiculous.

With the bonus that it really wound up Mc Manaman
