May 17May 17 It depends on how Alonso wants us to play.If he changes to a more dynamic system we’ll see some players who were dogsh*t under Maresca and Rosenior begin to look like players and others who were rated begin to lose form. But I doubt there are Chelsea futures for all the CB’s bar Josh, Levi and Sarr.Jorgensen won’t be required either.Delap and Guiu don’t look like a good fit under Alonso so I imagine they will be off. The rest of the wingers /forwards will probably be given another chance I fear
May 17May 17 If we need to make big money, I'd honestly consider bids for one of Palmer or Caicedo because I doubt we are going to get much for Enzo Fernandez. If Perez brings in Mourinho and there is even a sniff of a chance of someone running against him competently, they will go for Vitinha or Neves. PSG might be tempted to part with 60-70m for Fernandez. It's not that Palmer or Caicedo aren't top class, but of our top-class players right now, they are the only ones that have a chance of being competently replaced. The market is so dire for certain positions, if we needed to replace Joao Pedro or Reece James we'd be in serious trouble no matter how much money we got.

From what I have seen, he can't play high tempo football anymore. If Alonso has him playing as a wing back or even just a traditional fullback that bombs up and down the pitch, I see him breaking down very quickly. I don't think we can afford to have our RB missing chunks of the season every season and constantly being rested or pulled off after playing a certain amount of minutes.

He has a new contract and is central to all things Chelsea so a departure might seem unlikely. Im convinced Reeces' best position is on the pitch, full back or midfield - not on the bench.

May 18May 18 Isn't that what we bought Quenda for? Left wing-back is the more pressing need: we have nobody who even close to fills that hole in the XI (maybe Antwi can do it but he turned 19 a week ago and has a grand total of 21 senior minutes). To answer the question posed by the thread title: Delap and Jörgensen are the obvious ones as they are both incompetent players. All of our wingers (bar Estêvão) are varying degrees of sh*te or unlikeable, and it's probably time to move on Cucurella before Barcelona cotton onto the fact that he's an idiot.

May 18May 18 It’s all very well saying get rid of this one and that one but it just ain’t that easy.We may be able to sell a couple, loans may be needed for some. Others will have to pad the squad I feel.Players who have left the club recently who looked terrible here have gone on to look half decent elsewhere KDH as an example, even Disasi has looked alright on loan so maybe a decent manager gets more out of some of them. The squad needs an overhaul without doubt I just can’t see it all happening this summer.Priority should be getting his targets but that’s difficult with PSR etc we are in a one out before we can get one in situation. This is why getting Alonso in early was the right thing to do. Could and should be a busy summer.

Hato has been impressive this 2nd half of the season, especially in carrying the ball. For the right side I'd sell Gusto, bring in Guela Doue from Strasbourg. I'd also like to know what the plan is for Acheampong.

May 18May 18 The list I'd like to get rid of contains most of the squad, but being realistic and looking at who might even have any suiters, I think we'd be looking at (Bold = sold or loaned):Sanchez - Will stay. Either as 1st choice or fighting Penders for spotJorgensen - Probably a Strasbourg loan or sale to small european clubSlonina - Probably a sale to a lower div sideCucrella - StaysTosin - StaysBadiashile - Most likely will attempt to get rid of him, but I can see it being a loan to FranceColwill - StaysSarr - I have no clue. Was hyped up, made a mistake, then disappeared. Loan to Strasbourg again?Hato - StaysChalobah - Probably try to sell him again. I don't mind him as backup, personally.James - StaysGusto - As much as I'd love him to go, I imagine he'll stay.Fofana - See above. Though depends what Alonso thinks of his attitude.Josh - I imagine he'll be loaned to a championship teamEnzo - 50/50. Might stay, might go to Madrid. I'd prefer the latter personally. I think he's trash.Essugo - Probably a loan to italy or somethingSantos - StaysCaicedo - StaysLavia - Stays (fit???)Neto - StaysDelap - I imagine we'll take whatever offer we can get for him. Probably to a newly promoted team, or maybe Newcastle or Everton.Guiu - Same. Whatever offer we can get.Estavao - Stays, until he decides he wants Barcelona.Garnacho - Might actually go. He's been very disappointing and I think we might look to move him on and get a new LW.Gittens - Probably stays simply due to the fact he's been injured and not in the shop window.Palmer - Probably staysPedro - I'd like him to stay, but Barcelona are calling, so 50/50.Mudryk - Can we just sack him and get some money back?Disasi - Any offer we can getAnselmino - No f**king ideaKellyman - Any offerPaez - Any offer, but we won't get any. Probably loan.Jackson - I reckon we'll struggle to sell him so either another loan or he comes back into the teamGeorge - Probably sell him to Everton for a small amountDavid Fofana - Any offer
May 18May 18 Author The one player I would keep is Guiu. I do think there is an EPL player in him. He is still so very young, just 20 last January. But physically he is bulking out nicely and is the best in the air of any of our forwards. He also has a work ethic and is not afraid to mix it with defenders.
May 18May 18 My list is way too long so I'll just list the limited few I would say are not for sale.Levi, Joao Pedro, Estevao, Reece, Hato and Caicedo. If any club comes in for the likes of Cole or Enzo and pays silly money then I wouldn't say no but the chuckle brothers would have to spend it then so maybe i'll keep Cole aswell.
May 18May 18 Here are my suggestions for the summer.KEEP: Sanchez, James, Colwill, Cucurella, Acheampong, Caicedo, Enzo, Estevao, Joao Pedro, Palmer, Hato.UNDECIDED: Santos, Neto, Gittens, Lavia, Jackson, Fofana, Gusto, Chalobah, Emegha, Essugo, Sarr.SELL: Garnacho, Badiashile, Delap, Tosin, Disasi, George, Jorgensen, Guiu. The keep and sell groups are the ones I'm certain about, so I'll just elaborate on the undecideds. Santos is decent but I'm not sure he's as good as we thought he was. Neto is terribly inconsistent. Essugo and Gittens are question marks, they haven't had the time to show much due to injuries. Fofana hasn't developed into a top class defender despite an early promise at Leicester and he's only been playing because other options apart from Colwill are even worse. If we get quality CB in the summer, I'd be quite content to see him gone. Emegha is unproven but surely he can contribute more than Guiu as a third choice striker. Sarr should probably go on loan. Jackson has some good attributes but he's terrible in front of goal and has mentality issues. Lavia's talent was never the question but at this point he should probably consider a career change because if in any other profession if you had his attendance record you'd be out of a job long time ago. And last, but not least, Malo Gusto. Never rated the man, does nothing well enough and it feels like most people fail to notice how average and limited he is as a footballer.Any thoughts? I don't want James in midfield, it's the same problem, he plays too slow because he can't play high tempo football anymore.
