September 14, 201510 yr San Andreas - 3/10. I like disaster movies, they're never factually accurate and they all follow the same story board, so I didn't expect a masterpiece. However, it loses about 3 marks for those stupid English accents, I've NEVER come across English people who talk that posh, what do the Americans think we really sound like?? Nearly muted it every time they spoke.
September 14, 201510 yr Yes, not bad I thought it was good, I may even prefer it to more popular films like True Romance.
September 16, 201510 yr Last 2 days I've been to see both the transporter: refueled which I thought was really good, to compare it to the last series of films is harsh, as its a new run at it, and I think it was very good, hard to improve on Stathem but Skrein played it very well I'd give it a 7.5/10. I also went to see Maze Runner: Scorch Trials, now i don't want to put anyone off but it kind of had points where you were thinking 'really? This is happening again' but it's set up the final film in the trilogy very well. As a whole it had the potential to be very good but in the end was just good, plus they messed with my favourite character which annoyed me! (I won't say who it is) I'll go a strong 7/10.
September 18, 201510 yr me,earl and a dying girl.....not a bad film though might appeal to a late teenage/early twenties more than myself 7/10 spooks for a greater good......typical tv to cinema production 6.5/10
September 20, 201510 yr Vacation. Nowhere near as enjoyable or funny as the original. Some decent lines though so 5/10
September 20, 201510 yr Went to see this one yesterday: Pretty interesting stuff. It tells decades of Cambodia's history with the country's popular music as the thing that ties it all together.
September 21, 201510 yr Straight Outta Compton- Charting the rise of the pioneers of Gangsta rap, the N.W.A. Fantastic performances from the boys (and some excellent casting- Ice Cube's son O'Shea Junior playing a young version of Ice Cube- a striking resemblance, obviously) and a brilliant soundtrack. As someone who grew up listening to West Coast gangsta rap, such as 2pac, N.W.A, Dre and Snoop, this sh*t was dope! It was about 20 mins too long though. 9/10

Haha thanks MB! 20 minutes too long for your concentration span, Blueblur? Will I forever be mocked? I thought I was safe in this thread, obviously not. Back to Random Chat I go!

September 21, 201510 yr Fight Club. It was the first time I've seen it and, I'm not going to lie, I was pretty disappointed. I didn't like the ending at all. I'd still give it a 7ish out of 10 because I enjoyed the film up till then.

I'd still give it a 7ish out of 10 because I enjoyed the film up till then. I don't think we can be friends any more.... What didn't you like about the ending? Chuck Palahniuk, the author of book prefers the films ending to his own.

I think it was a case of anti-climax as much as anything as I'd been told it was one of the best film endings of all time and just didn't get that. It could be a case of me not looking deep enough into it and it might be better if I re-watch it, which I probably will. It's the first film in the IMDB top 20-30 which I've watched and wondered why it was there, so it's not the classic case of disliking something because it's popular. I've also just bought Gladiator, The Hangover and Goodfellas on DVD, none of which I've seen. Looking forward to watching them all. Edited September 23, 201510 yr by RichardCFC

I wasn't recommend the film or anything, I had just heard about it and decided to watch it. Think it might have been on the Beeb one evening or something like that. Basically I went into the film without any kind of expectation... I watched it, enjoyed it and thought nothing more of it. Then I found out it was top of the IMDB list and was a little surprised, I personally don't understand what it is exactly that people find so appealing about the film.
September 23, 201510 yr I've also just bought Gladiator, The Hangover and Goodfellas on DVD, none of which I've seen. Looking forward to watching them all. Goodfellas is an outstanding movie! I don't know a single person who has said it was bad movie so I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Edited September 23, 201510 yr by Jezz
September 23, 201510 yr I've also just bought Gladiator, The Hangover and Goodfellas on DVD, none of which I've seen. Looking forward to watching them all. Goodfellas is my favourite movie of all time. I must have watched it 40+ times. I can say every single line. If you don't like it, there must be something wrong with you! Gladiator is excellent, The Hangover is a good laugh, just don't bother with the sequels...

As the others have said, Goodfellas is tremendous, Gladiator is great and the Hangover is pretty funny, but again I wouldn't recommend the sequels. Edited September 23, 201510 yr by Teritus

"As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a gangster." Awesome film. Love me a bit of Martin Scorsese.
