Didn't Ballack say something similar weeks ago? He said something about playing in the World Cup and then he didn't know about his playing future and might retire. (If I rememeber right) That would be nice to have Ballack and Deco go. They are solid players but not what we need right now. They are the decline.

Fair play to him, seems like a move that would hopefully benefit everyone involved - he's a great player and I like him a lot, but he hasn't added quite as much to the team as I thought he would when he first joined. If he wants to move back to Brazil and closer to his kids then good for him.

He showed moments of briliance, make no mistake. But if he wants to go, and it means freeing up space for a younger player, and reducing the age of the squad, then I'm glad he want to leave while we can still get money for him, and not in a year when he could leave for free after spending a year on the bench

He has had next to no impact at all during his time with us... he is past his best and even though I knew he was not going to be running around like a youthful terrier I was hopeful that he would have been far more creative than he was, but as Arq said earlier nothing against the bloke but time to move on and try and get someone with more youth and potential in the side..
