August 26, 20205 yr There's very little chance that Messi is leaving Barca. They'll pay him 2Mill a week to keep him
August 26, 20205 yr 1 hour ago, kiwi1691 said: No, I said I hope he stays away as he can still destroy teams at 33. Messi has been carrying an aging Barca in recent years. If a Messi was on a team like city I could see him putting teams (inclung Chelsea) to the sword. The member of Barça's board are pressuring Bartomeu not to resign under any circumstances. If he does, all the members would have to guarantee the club's losses with their assets. If it happens some of them could be ruined. Example: If Barcelona had a budget of 1 billion in 20/21 and the accumulated profits were less than 15%, 150 million, they would be obliged to guarantee the difference with their personal assets. They are waiting for a government moratorium on the covid." Apparently that's the reason why the elections are in march Pfff... Imagine, Messi instead of Sterling at City. KDB will have 35 assists more that season.

August 26, 20205 yr Chelsea goalkeeping coach Christophe Lollichon has been watching Mendy for a while… " Lollichon told Le Parisien: “He has reached maturity, with a fairly unusual path, and it is all the more meritorious. “Edouard Mendy is today, for me, the best goalkeeper in the Championship of France. “He is what I call proactive, very influential goalkeeper… Reims really did a great job with him. “Maybe at [Marseille] they could not detect the talent he had in him, but it was perhaps not the right time too. “In any case, he's a great goalkeeper that we follow in the Premier League." Rennes have been talking to Chelsea regarding a possible loan for their centre back Fikayo Tomori." Edited August 26, 20205 yr by doctorblue

August 26, 20205 yr The amount of bloody helicopters that will be flying in & out of Cobham, they’ll cause havoc to flight paths.
August 26, 20205 yr So by the sounds of it we have identified some defensive reinforcements to come in, and they are all out of france and quite possibly scouted by Cech and our former goalkeeper coach turned scout. I mean Silva needs no introduction but it sounds like both Sarr (fairly close) and Mendy (opening stages) for goal are our targets. Now Sarr may or may not stick around this season. Assuming these deals get done Mendy would likely be a competitor to Kepa, who if he let's us down again would end up on the bench, Willy taking the number 3 shirt. I would hope Sarr sticks around and makes up 4 defensive options with Silva, Zouma and one of Christensen or Rudiger. Likely the latter. Allowing both Tomori and Chtistensen to go out on loans with optional recalls in Jan.

August 26, 20205 yr You're doing some smart business. We're told that teams can't sign 5-6 quality players in a window but it looks like you're proving that to be a myth. Huge expectations of Frank Lampard next season then.

We had a transfer ban and Willian and Pedro left so no wonder all this is happening, also the season and transfer window got extended so a lot of factors contributed to all of this.

That old favourite, no pressure hey. Of course at least we dont have the pressure of playing for the biggest club in the world apparently. 😄

I like Frank Lampard and I want him to do well but in the goldfish bowl that is the EPL, and Chelsea's record with managers, he'll be under a magnifying glass. As for the 'biggest club in the world' cobblers, I don't buy into marketing hype.

I'd like to think so but I wouldn't be surprised if Ole came out and said he was happy with what he has. We talk a good game when it comes to transfers and the gutter press will link us with dozens of players, but I can't see us spending much. Bruno and slugger Maguire, the terror of the Greek plod, still have to be paid for and we haven't sold anyone.

It's a strange one isn't it ... sending him straight out on loan .... if I was Frank, I'd want to have a good look at everyone in pre season ... and that would definitely include Sarr (and Mbuyamba) ...

Generally when we have bought and immediately loaned out before the loan club has been announced in the arrival announcement (although that has often been the selling club).
