I hope that Chelsea put a July 10 cutoff date to trying to sign Kounde, especially after Sevilla dicked them around last summer. Keep plan B, C and D warm to avoid settling for leftovers at the end of the window.

Why do people keep saying it was Sevilla the messed around with us? it was the complete opposite. They told us their price, Marina kept trying to drive the price down, then when she finally agreed to their price, it was way too late in the window which gave Sevilla no time to get a replacement in. If we would move a bit quicker in the transfer market, maybe we wouldn't see so many of our targets ending up at different clubs.

Richarlison has been linked to us, though apparently we won't move for him until Lukaku is gone, which makes Spurs favorites.

If true its the same old sh*t from chelsea, not that I'm a lover if Richarlison and hisfalling over all the time, but I thought things would have changed with the new owners.

Not sure what we are doing behind the scenes but this is an absolute bargain. Just the type of player we needed, Spurs will be a force next season, doing their business early in preparation for what will be a very short pre-season.

I really hope we hijack that deal just like we did with Willian. Can't believe we're letting someone of his quality and who would fit us like a glove go to a rival like that.

Come on Boehly and Co.

Wonder if the fee is low because of his pending court case, & liability issues.

He only has 1 year left on his contract. I suspect Brighton have been wary about extending his contract because of the case though.

One thing is for sure, @just will not be a happy bunny at this news. He has long advocated us signing Bissouma so him going to Spurs instead....

It seems it'll be a long and painful window for us. Our board will be haggling over a few million while our rivals sign up the quality players and we'll end up desparate and grossly overpay for sh*t like lukaku. It's the recruitment policy that is costing us big time.

My best guess is that they're all on holiday and with internationals its tumble weed scenes, Probably pick up in a few weeks, Also probably going through it all, Boely was known for bargains and good players for cheap so you would like to think they have some exciting plans for the next couple months

Biggest impact would be a few quality signings on deadline day!

Will there be any 'quality signings' left on deadline day though?

I would imagine they'd all be hoovered up by all our rivals (as per) long before then and we'll be left with the Zappacostas and Drinkwaters again.

I'm hopeful that given the new owners will want to make their mark, that we'll have plenty going on behind the scenes. Also if i remember rightly they we're quite calm and collected during the buying process, there wasn't a lot of noise like the Ricketts, perhaps a similar approach to transfers 🤞

Nations league, internationals, holidays, etc isn't an excuse. Look how many deals Liverpool, City, and Spurs have completed. Hell, look at Villa and Newcastle.

I'm sure if any of them were bought just before the summer transfer window it would be the same, City took 5yrs to build what they have and I cant see either of them buying much more than they already have although pool may as they let a few go

Have we even let anyone go yet apart from rudi?!

lol, hmmm its an interesting bet that, Never a dull day at chelsea!

Don't really have to do the deal then sign them on the same day, Usually its always them getting deals over the line in time

I think its a tad early and plenty of quality will be around, I hope either way we don't end up in a bog roll shortage scenario!

That's us (or has been us) in a nutshell.

Let's hope with the new owners it'll be different this year.

Yes. Christensen.

It takes City and Liverpool a matter of weeks to complete their deals. With us, its a complete anomaly if it isn't months to complete. The sanctions are no excuse when new ownership was inevitable and we could still talk to clubs regarding transfers. It makes not an ounce of sense why things are still slow unless we are well and truly stilly penny pinching.

You just have to look at recent history what has happened when we left signings late. 2011, 2015, and 2017. 6th, 10th, and 5th placed finishes.

Yeeah you're right, Marina staying had my eyes rolling if im honest because replace her and that person will be out to prove himself etc esp the AM guy, They always have proper quality players scattered around.

Not much we as fans and supporters can do tbh, Moaning from the rafters and they will be printing stories on that, casting a wobble onto the club pre season!

That AM guy thought it was a great idea to bring back Morata, Costa, and Griezmann, and they've stagnated.

& sign Joao Felix for €120m. They do get the small deals right to be honest, but are notoriously poor with big deals
