July 22, 20223 yr A while ago we kept seeing reports linking us to Nunes of Sporting, who looks a decent midfielder. But that has all quiet recently. Just wondering if we're going to make a bid or waith for Barcelona's ninth lever
July 22, 20223 yr So if Dave is allowed to go to Barca, who replaces him? and clearly we need more attacking options...Broja or do we go for someone else?

July 24, 20223 yr Milan have now reopened negotiations with Chelsea in order to get a deal for Ziyech finally over the line. Rafael Leao to Chelsea would be a nice boost for our frontline. Tall, very fast, just turned 23 and capable of playing anywhere in the front line, has been used mainly as a LW or RW for Milan, but grew up playing as a central striker. He would be expensive, but Milan need the money. Leao has been compared to Thiery Henry.

July 24, 20223 yr Rafael Leao (W/F) I cannot see the player moving to Newcastle who have enquired. PSG have sent scouts and he might be an option for Real Madrid as they clear the decks - and they would look to including Marco Asensio and Luka Jovic in a deal. Manchester City see him as an attacking addition to replace Sterling. Milan want him to stay and sign a new contract, but fear a significant offer from Manchester City, Chelsea, Madrid or PSG. Compensation fees have been agreed with Sporting and sell on fees are due to Lille. It would be an expensive deal, but, Milan need the $$$. Anyways, get bored talking about Kounde.

July 24, 20223 yr Barcelona's Las Vegas-style gamble depends on legal fate of European Super League (telegraph.co.uk)

It was Laporta pushing for the European Super League last time around and that is the only way the club will survive. If and when it does happen, football will be finished as far as I am concerned.

Barcelona fans might be laughing now, but there’ll be a price to pay and when that day comes they won’t be getting much sympathy from the rest of the football world.

Would be ideal as he can play both RCB and RWB, but I'm really finding it hard to see us hijacking this deal. French player being targeted by the biggest club in France - that's quite tough competition. However, I'd be more happy with either Kimpembe/Gvardiol/Mukiele than Kounde/Aké. Could potentially be that we'll get neither of the above.

July 25, 20223 yr Apparently Juve want Werner according to Romano and to think they rejected him when we offered him for De Ligt. We should honestly stop doing business with teams like Barca and Juve that want their cake and to eat it too.

No loans though, they have De Ligt money now.

Who in their right mind would offer Werner for deLigt? 😄 But honestly: they knew there is a good market for De Ligt and they also knew that there isn't for Werner. Beggars can't be choosers and all that.
July 26, 20223 yr Deals are deals. When do "swap" deals ever work? "Swap" deal and cash for such and such. They never work. They seldom ever happen. They have nothing to do with Football Clubs, they are media inventions. Please forget forever the idea of the 'swap deal'.

Maybe back in the days of Noel Edmunds and Cheggers but those days are long gone ;). The only swap deal I can think of where we did well was Ashley Cole for Gallas. At the time I remember quite a few were unhappy with that, but I am pretty sure we got the good end of the deal

Knowing Italian teams they will still try to get a cheap deal despite making money from a sale. The board have probably already taken 80% of that money for 'other expenses'.
July 26, 20223 yr With Kounde (now hopefully) dead and buried, I think that we have to now ignore players in Spain, Italy, France etc. We need players that have plenty of Prem experience and can hit the ground running. Just for discussion, here's a bit of a list, that we might be able to get before the end of the window, what do you think? Defenders 1. Wesley Fofana (Leicester), 2. Joachim Andersen (Palace) , 3. Jannik Vestergaard (Southampton), 4. Ezri Konsa, (Villa) 5. Fabian Schar (Newcastle) Midfield 1. Declan Rice, 2. Jude Bellingham,3. Emile smith Rowe, 4. James Maddison, 5. Jacob Ramsey Strikers 1. Ronaldo, 2. Ivan Toney, 3. Jamie Vardy, 4. Firmino, 5. Mbeumo
