Might sound crazy but I’d rather just go with what we have than panic buy last minute. Tosin & Murdyk type players is what you end up with when you buy this late in the window, or worse still buy a dud on a Blue Co 6yr contract that you can’t shift.

That or sign Samir El Mourabet from Strasbourg who I rate highly, and send Essugo on a permanent transfer the other way.

I'd take that if we can't bin Pedro Neto on deadline day.

Neto, Quenda and Estevao are good enough for backup options for Rogers and Palmer in a season with no European football.

We’d be f**king stupid not to be jumping at that. Value for moneywise, the worst value signing of the BlueCo era. To recuperate anything is a huge win for us.

I still have a feeling that, should we get such money for Enzo, we are going to get Adam Wharton.

Unlike Bournemouth I don't think Palace turn down a huge offer.

For extra perspective, that would be paying £65m for a kid who is equally likely to be the next Bakoyoko or Tchouameni, and £75m for a player who has a similar injury record to Lavia despite playing in much less intense leagues:




We do need midfield cover, but not at that cost and risk. I'd keep the powder dry for January where both Alex Scott and Adam Wharton will be readily available.

But I'd still like to get Anselmino a domestic loan and then sign a further CB on a permanent. Ideally I'd like 3 signings today, and all to be needle movers.

I’m a bit split on making signings today. It’s clear we are in serious need of improving our midfield. We’re close to not even having one with Moi injured and Lavia inevitably being injured soon.

The start we’ve had has I think made many of us think a title challenge is coming and that addressing these issues now is imperative. But if you consider finishing 10th and being terrible last year, 5th and CL football would be brilliant progress. And CL next year and extra cash could (and with time to assess) could result in much better signings next summer and then a title challenge.

Not good at practising patience though. Get the chequebook out!!

Seems the Kone deal is £52m + year long loan deal for Gittens to Roma. Worry is his injury history, and Serie A is an awful league presently.

None of these replacements fill me with any confidence. We should just keep Enzo rather than panic buy and just so Maresca and City dont get their way. Pathetic to leave it so late and this is down to City playing silly beggars. Shut the door and never deal with them again.

I also advocate for keeping Enzo. We don’t need the money but we do need quality. He’ll soon get over it. I’m sure most won’t agree but he’s a professional.
