Certainly energy and passing looked good. I still saw some close control mistakes that might have been punished against better opposition.<br /><br />How seriously can we take preseason friendlies though? Last year we were all jumping up and down about how good Marin looked on the USA tour and look what happened.<br /><br />I'm desperate for some chelsea action but not taking too much notice of form.

I thought he was our best player in that game.

He did look decent yesterday. Im the same as the others on here though, i want to see him up against some real talent and see how he copes then.

What looks particularly good about him is that he seems to weight his passes really well, a lot of the through balls looked good because of this.

 

He also looks quite comfortable with one touch passes which looked to keep momentum going.

 

Interesting that he was taking the majority of dead balls as well.

I mean the likes of City and Barca. I actually mean better than a bunch of thai league players.

When we played against Genk, KDB was the head and shoulders player in their side. I thought he could be a very good player. The more I see of him, the more I read and hear of him particularly from other fans, the more I'm convinced we have an exceptional talent with us. With Jose's arm around his shoulder he could go onto becoming a superstar. (I hope!)

 

So to sum up, I'm fairly happy he is with us this year. 

I hope that Jose can push him on to the next level. Frank always talks about how Jose was good for him so hopefully it will be the same with KDB.

And then you'll pass a FAIL verdict when he does poorly against players who've been playing at a high level for a number of years.

Dont be hasty with the "i want to see him up against some real talent and see how he copes then". He needs time and confidence in the blue shirt and if it comes by whipping a bunch of thai league players, I wouldn't mind one bit.

speed, technical skill, dribling, great passing, great set pieces, great vision and endurance...he can score goals and is two footed !

 

he covered most distance of the whole bundesliga in his first year on that level at age 21 scoring 10 goals and giving assists. He also was decisive in most matches the Belgium squad played last year.

 

yesterday was no coincidence....last season he played like that all year  also against Bayern , Dortmund and Serbia.  This is a star nowbody should worry....  he is special...and Mou knows..because he is also special..

In Dutch, you would pronounce it as Kevin De Brow-ne.

Hah, just posting in the Van Ginkel thread about Dutch pronuniations :-)

De Browne is a bit off from the correct pronunciation. It's a bit like someone with a heavy Scottish accent would say "down", and the last e is prnounced "uh".

Haha, that's how I always thought it was but hearing Derek Rae pronounce it yesterday was all a bit odd.

Yeh I know, I speak Dutch (horridly), but thought it was a 'reasonable' interpretation of what his name should sound like.

Every commentator I've heard so far seems to call him Kevin "De Broon Neh"
