Kevin De Bruyne

The whole training with the reserves is a non story. He wasn't in tge champions league squad, so rather than him have a couple of days off, he trained with the reserves, along with some other first teamers. It was standard practice completely blown up by the baying media.

thanks for clarifying

It's too bad we never got to see him in central midfield, his best position by far, IMO.

Shame because i remember Mourinho saying recently KDB would get some game time in December and they spoke about him playing deeper as he did several times with Bremen.Dont sell KDB in my opinion, loan him.I hate seeing us sell good players.

Yeah it would definitely be a shame if he was sold rather than loaned out.

Us Chelsea fans have got very attached to De Bruyne even though he's not played much in a Chelsea shirt, I think we get caught up in individuals instead of looking at the bigger picture - the team.  If you look at it from a team perspective we have too many attacking mids which we should see as a positive.  With so many gifted attacking midfielders we get to select the cream of the crop, not everyone can make it and we want the best team.  Bertrand Traore will be in the same situation when he tries to break into the first team he may even take someone else's place in the team, this is the way football is if you want to improve and stay at the top.

The level you need to be at to make it as an attacking mid is the highest it ever been at Chelsea and maybe De Bruyne isn't quite good enough we've not seen him in training.  If I'm honest I think loaning him out last year was the main problem we were light in midfield last season and he could have established himself in the team before the signings of Schurrle and Willian.  Now the task maybe too much for him.

The Belgium midfielder's agent Patrick De Koster met with Chelsea officials last week and revealed that his client wants to leave Stamford Bridge.

De Koster claims Juventus and Atletico Madrid have shown interest in De Bruyne, but said the player wants to return to Germany, with Wolfsburg being his preferred option.

"Another loan wouldn't be good for the player or the club," De Koster told Press Association Sport.

"The player and his family would like to secure a permanent solution because he has been out on loan already twice.

"It's a World Cup year and for this reason he needs to play.

"Now in the next few hours or days, we will see if somebody finds an agreement with Chelsea. If there is an agreement I will speak with the player about what we will do.

"His preference is to go back to the Bundesliga. There have been discussions with Wolfsburg and other clubs."

Looks like he is on his way out of the club then.

Anywhere close to £20m for him and we will have done very well out of it, just doesn't look like it's ever going to work out for him at Chelsea so we might as well part ways as early as possible so everyone can move on.

If he does go, I really can't see Mata leaving this January because it's too much upheaval in the squad when we're very much in the title race still, I can see KDB leaving to free up funds/space for a central midfielder.

If we do get around 20mill will be another case of the club spotting a young talent, letting them develop on loan and selling off for a profit with a rather minimal amount of work. He cost what, 7 or 8 mill? So it would be a very tidy profit and help towards our FFP.

Maybe we also need such a fee to cover the signing of Guarin, or go towards signing Matic.

I think we should get used to young players coming in relatively cheaply and being sold at a profit after barely a kick of the ball for us. Its a no brainer where ffp is concerned, pretty much every player will be sold at a profit. Its just another negative side to ffp that shows how much of a failing it is.

Oddly enough, if you were to pick a player out of KDB or Mata that would have a easier time adjusting to Jose's style it would be KDB and yet he's not really been given a fair crack for whatever reason.

Just think we will have Moses and Marin and even Piazon to sell in the summer also. We will earn a few bob this summer just by selling off our no longer needed squad members.

Wouldnt surprise me if that was the plan all along.

To be honest i think winning the Champions league changed everything. I think Marin and Moses were bought with the view to be first team players (i know that moses was bought after we won it) BUT since winning it our stock has gone right up and we have been able to get a higher level of players. I dont doubt for one second that if we hadnt won the CL then Hazard wouldnt have signed for us. I think he would be a Man U player. Oscar i think wouldnt be ours either.

Shame as he did look promising, but I do think our academy is going to buy, train, and sell a lot of young talent, with a few occasionally making it over to the first team.  I wouldn't be surprised if Piazon, Kakuta, De Bruyne, Van Aarnholt, are all sold.

It was never going to be the £30m Willian or newly signed Schurrle. He was really the first in line to stay behind. Jose and this Chelsea team wasn't his place. Not everyone makes it. Great prospect and sad to see him leave but it is best for him. I guess Kakuta takes his place now in the team.

Kakuta? I'm pretty sure he will be sold. That's a big step down in quality from KDB to Kakuta.
