December 29, 20205 yr The three more high profile players we have on loan are Gallagher, Ampadu and RLC (although RLC is not far off 25 so can hardly be considered youth and shame to say, think his time is up with us). Seems a shame that all three have gone to clubs struggling and involved in a relegation battle. Haven't heard much about Ampadu but Sheff utd are rock bottom with 2 points and I see he got subbed today after 67 minutes so it can't be going that well for him. Gallagher seems to be getting better reviews and let's hope Big Sam can help him although today's 0-5 hammering by Leeds won't have helped!

Of the 3 its Gallagher that's impressed the most, which I don't think anyone expected. He has stood out whenever I've seen Brom play, was outstanding against Liverpool and us pretty much running their team, which is incredible for a young loanee. Ampadu has looked average, at best, he's still far too impetuous and just dives in far too much, he just hasn't learnt.

There's a lot of concern with Conor playing under Big Sam but if anything i think that will help him. Allardyce will improve his defensive discipline (already saw signs of that at Anfield) and with the style of play he'll have to learn to make the most of every moment he get's in attacking areas.
April 18, 20215 yr Has anyone had a decent enough season on loan to be pushing for a Chelsea squad place in 21/22 ? Maybe Guehi or Gallagher ? Tomori has done well, but I think Milan will now buy him. Certainly don't think Ampadu has done anywhere near enough at Sheffield United. I think he is probably now further away from playing for us than he was at the start of the season. Ditto RLC sadly ...

Tomori I hope returns and plays but he does suit Italian football. not sure Milan can afford him at the moment. Guehi/Gallagher have been good but ready? maybe not. Gallagher could take Gilmour spot and loan Gilmour for game time. Amapadu shouldn't have gone to Sheff Utd, should have stayed with squad and been used. RLC seems to be on way out. Quality operator but injuries have ruined chances especially with Havertz very much in his mould. He's also 25 now so maybe struggling. Broja? scoring goals out in Holland and Vitesse fans seem to think he's quality (same bracket as Mount for them).

I've seen a bit of Brojas highlights from this season he really does look immense but is that because of the level of opposition, I like to think he could replicate it in any league we might be allowed in next season
April 19, 20215 yr I wonder whether Malang Sarr, currently at Porto, will get a place in our squad next year. Tbh I've idea how he's doing this season.
May 22, 20215 yr Don't know a huge amount about Guehi, but watching the Swansea v Barnsley play-off right now and he looks VERY decent. Commanding and hasn't put a foot wrong. Not even 21 yet but looks a real prospect and perhaps explains why the club are comfortable letting Tomori go.
May 22, 20215 yr My Swansea-supporting mates think the world of Guehi. They say he's the best CB in the Championship and is "easily CL quality".
May 23, 20215 yr Great to hear that we have another young and talented CB incoming. Tomori, now Guehi.

I don’t know too much either, the champions league games I saw (Juventus and us) chancel mbemba, formally of Newcastle I think, was preferred at CB to him. However Pepe plays lcb and with Sarr being left footed this may be the reason. I appreciate it’s not really a legitimate concern but it still worries me.
July 15, 20215 yr Looks like Ike Ugbo is off to my Club in Belgium (KRC Genk). Price will be between € 3-5 Mil.
July 16, 20215 yr Levi Colwill has gone out on loan to Huddersfield Town. I think he should get a fair slice of game time there. He seems highly rated and i believe they will be using him anywhere along the back line as is their need.
July 25, 20214 yr Still waiting for this guy to make it. Reminds me a bit of Billy watching some of those highlights. Let's hope Billy's career has a different trajectory.
September 16, 20214 yr See Josh is 28 now and is plying his trade at MK Dons. Looked up a few of the other names of young prospects from a while back: Conor Clifford - Bray Wanderers Billy Clifford - Havant & Waterlooville Izzy Brown - Preston Jeffrey Bruma - Kasimpasa (Turkey) Gokhan Tore - Besiktas Todd Kane & Jay Clarke-Salter - Both Coventry Nat Chalobah - recently joined Fulham Jon Swift - Doing well at Reading - scored a hat-trick against QPR the other week Charlie Colkett - Ostersunds (Sweden) Lucas Piazon - Braga Alex Kiwomya - Kings Lynn Lewis Baker - still on CFC books and on his 100th loan! Islam Feruz - Retired!! So many players, all of whom I enjoyed watching play for the youth team in our many FA Youth Cup triumphs. Most still playing - some at a decent level, others having slipped down the leagues after one loan move after another. You do have to question could some of them have been handled better? Just shows what a very thin line there is between making in and not and success and failure. You need to have the desire and will to make it but I think there is also a fair bit of luck involved. September 17, 20214 yr Haven’t opened this tread since July 2020. Had a scan through and came across lliyaKrostin post from just last May. How a transfer window can chance things. Never expected either to have left the club. On 23/05/2021 at 09:25, IliyaKrostin said: Great to hear that we have another young and talented CB incoming. Tomori, now Guehi.

December 3, 20214 yr Good to see Nathan Baxter making a difference in goal at Hull City in the Championship. Hull were rooted in the bottom 3, effectively bottom if you disregard all Derby's penalty points, but since Baxter came into the side, they have won 4 games in a row with 3 clean sheets, and are now 5 points clear of the relegation places. Whoscored are rating Baxter at 7.59 ! I wonder if he will ever be considered good enough to be one of our 3 first team squad keepers ? For a 23 year old keeper, he has a significant number of experience under his belt from all his various loans.

January 25, 20224 yr West Ham rumored to be making an offer for Broja this transfer window. We can expect other teams to be competing for his services after thesesson. He has the size, strength and quickness to be a 15 to 20 annually over the next 10 to 12 years. Chelsea needs to keep him and sell Werner. He will be scoring long after Lukaku leaves London again.
February 23, 20224 yr Maatsen with another goal for Coventry. Back up to Chilwell next season and Alonso sold?
