Is there actually beef between Villa and Torres?

I think they both realize they aren't exactly first choice - so they are battling fro Soldado's spot

Good movement, finishing. Poor passing, first touch. Fairly typical Torres performance.

I feel like he's improving, the question is whether he can improve enough to be in our squad next season. I actually love Nando and really want him to do well but just can't see him ever getting anywhere near his 'glory days' form.

Let's just admit that he's never going to be the terrifying goal machine he was with Liverpool. But can we accept that he'll probably just be a decent, 20 goal a season second choice striker for us?

20 goals/season as a second choice striker? He barely managed 20 this time and most of those were against piss poor opposition and he played loads of games.

Yeah you're right there but his form really started to pick up the tail end of the season. Maybe if he gets the Golden Boot in the Confederations Cup it will give him confidence to take into next season cos being completely honest I don't think he's going anywhere.

Ignoring the opposition the composure shown by Torres for the finishing is what he had lacked for most his time at Chelsea.

His goals at the end if the season against Benfica and Everton were two of his better goals but we need him to show that confidence in striking at goal for us but often it's been wild and rushed.

24 goals in 53 games. Not exactly awful.

You can't ignore it, the level of the opposition is why he was so confident and composed.

64 games 22 goals?

I guess my figures were way out.

36 PL - 8 goals
5 league cup - 2 goals
4 FA cup - 1 goals
6 Champ league - 3 goals
9 Europa league - 6 goals

20 goals / 60 games

When you consider how many of these games he was subbed on or subbed off, and you consider that we have a lot of players who like to score goals, its a pretty good season. I'm not saying he's brilliant I just think sometimes he deserves more credit than people give him.

It isn't a good season. It would be if we were a mid table club, but we aren't. There's nothing to consider about substitutions etc. He basically had August - December for himself then Ba was brought in. If you want to take things into account, how many game winning goals has he scored in the PL? Or how many of those 8 goals were against a top side?
